Are travelers a race? I thought it was just a lifestyle choice? An Irish traveler is still just an white Irishman isn't he?

Roma, Romany Gypsies and Irish Travellers are now all recognised to have protection under the Race Relations Act as they have been finally recognised as minority ethnic communities in law.

Gypsy's although two different breeds , be it Irish or English come under the same race laws as blacks in the United kingdom .

I think it's important to note that the overwhelming majority of people in this forum have never made racist comments about gypsies.
