Welchs 3rd fight, an 3 rd TKO loss to journeyman Gary Charlton (Leeds icon), gives the incorrect impression that Welch was knocked out.

This fight was actually stopped by the referee due to a cut on Welch, which I believe should be added.

Welch wasn't down in his career until his 1994 loss to James Oyebola on the Lewis/Jackson undercard, the only time he was ever down.

stoppages by cuts are always gonna be called TKO's even if the cut boxer was wiping the ring with his opponant up until the stoppage..
