Looks like Burns will soon have to face Broner as he is being made his mandatory challenger

I have a horrible feeling that Burns will get badly beaten! He hasn't exactly faced top quality oppo recently has he..whether it's his fault or not. I'm of the opinion that Broner will win well if this goes ahead, hope that doesn't happen though.

Burns is a tough lad and has confidence now. Broner destroyed the last guy he fought, but the fight before he looked ordinary.

Don`t write Burns off in this one (if it happens) although it will be a big ask for him.

It will be a major step up after the last three he fought (the not so teak tough African, the munchkin and then Steptoe)

I think Burns would get beaten handily by Broner. Time to get another belt in quick so he can vacate one of them if the challenges get too tough! No wonder he wants that South African guy (I think) who hasn't fought for ages and is old.

Very interesting!

Will warren dig deep for home advantage or will Burns be going stateside?

Or will Warren manage to get Fana over to fight for Ring mag title and avoid Broner altogether?

There is less than zero chance that warren let's Burns anywhere near Broner. If he is made mandatory I fully expect Burns to vacate and step up to fight at Lightweight. A shame really as it would be a very interesting fight.

no way will Burns vacate, not if he has any say in his career. It's clear he wants to fight the best, wants to unify, and that FW has been trying to build him a fanbase before that happens. If he wins against Broner then he'll be (in the promoter's eyes) PPV worthy.

I go for Burns in this fight, even though Broner looks the business. Would be a cracker for sure.

Notwithstanding billys passionate reply all the chat from warren recently has been about a fight with Mitchell. I tend to agree with john and would be very surprised if burns faced broner. Fact is burns has been in joke fights for year now and yet has not exceled. talk of him moving to ppv is absolutely comical.

Broner looked amazing against Litzau but didn't look overly impressive when he fought a blown up Featherweight in Ponce De Leon, it will be a very tough fight for Ricky but still very winnable

Not had a great deal of success in building a fanbase if his last fight is anything to go by - less than 3k and most of that on the back of Bellew, Murray and Mitchell.

I don't mean to criticise Ricky, I think he's a cracking fighter, but he's in a promotional stable that has a history of avoiding the toughest challenges while still making money. A Mitchell fight for the WBO Lightweight title fits that bill.

Fana’s stock will plummet massively in a little over 30 days. If Ricky wants to him for The Ring belt then something needs to be announced imminently.

It's a dangerous fight for sure. But he beat a dangerous fighter that he was supposed to have nae chance of beating to win the title. Never write the guy off it, would be an interesting fight.
