In 3 fights, one of which he lost - and in the other two his opponents came into the ring like something out of that reality t.v show the biggest loser. Come on I've paid to see Tyson Fury fight twice now so obviously I'm abit of a fan but I've decided not to pay again until he learns to punch properly, I mean paying to go and see heavyweights you want to see big punches and knockdowns/k.o's not cuddling up to big fatties, I could do that on a saturday night on my own, I certainly don't want to pay to see a 6 foot 9 geezer do it.

Fury has got many areas that need improving, but some of the bitter rubbish that has been posted about Fury needs balancing out. Still banging on about a bad decision in the 1st McDermott fight is crap. Fury won that fair and square. Nothing was stacked in his favour going into that one and he proved himself beyond any doubt IMO. You cant have seen many fights if in a close fight like that it turned out to be one of the worse decisions you've ever seen.

Team Price seem to be a bit jealous of the attention Fury has attracted, but they could done something about that by making the opposition a lot more demanding sooner. They haven't, so have to live in the shadows

Wow you really must work for Hennessy (or be a family member) or as you put it not seen too much boxing if you think Fury even nearly won the first Mcdermott fight he lost it by a huge margin. As for me I went to my first live boxing show in 1988 at the Ally Pally for 'Mcguigans back' and have been hooked ever since (although I must say I think Mike Tyson really got me into boxing) I've seens hundreds and hundreds of fights live and thousands on t.v. I certainly know a shit decision when I see one :TU:

I'm biased but when Mark lost on points to Keith Long, boxing news called it the 2nd worst decision of the year (I can't remember what they said was the first.)

I thought Robin Reid beat Calzaghe in Newcastle and most of the crowd agreed with me.

Yid14 -

Sometimes people without a good understanding of boxing are influenced by very biased commentators and analysts who are told to tow the party line.

The Butch understands boxing, yet for an honest and informed opinion, you accusing him of all sorts is bullshit.

Aren't you constantly giving Maloney and his fighters a polish since you won his competition ?

 That's brilliant on so many accounts. First of all I was at the fight on saturday so didn't here any commentry, and secondly I don't have sky so have to watch all the boxing since I've been back on my computer through streams, you clearly don't read my posts because I don't have any sound on my computer as I've said several times, suits me a treat because I don't hear any commentry at all and can do the scores without any biast opinion. And as for Maloney I haven't bigged up any of his fighters except Price because he is the future of British heavyweight boxing, also I went to the second Fury-Mcdermott fight (a maloney promotion)in Brentwood and commented on here that is was one of the worst boxing bills I've been too. Believe me I put you on a par with Butch because you two are the only posters on here deluded enough to believe that Fury won the first fight, I believe you,The Butch and Mugabi are either the same people or friends with eachother, is it possible for 3 posters to talk so much shit???

You think he won that fight, then you must have shit in your eyes. Try watching it again, without the rose tinted glasses.

Its one of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

The British Boxing Board of Control agreed, which is why they ordered an immediate rematch, with three scoring judges.

Everyone on here knows I'm completely biased towards Fury and have told anyone that will listen that he's a future world champion and even I don't think he won the first fight with McDermott.

Whilst i'm not convinced Chisora trained his nuts off for this fight, I don't think the end result would have been any different. Seeing how much Tyson has improved made a mockery of the 50/50 tag beforehand. Fury was ready for whatever was coming his way, Chisora probably made it easier for Fury than he should have. That said, we have seen extra bulk play it's part in heavyweight fights before.

As for price, I don't think he's the man to spoil the party. The right hand will be a danger but Fury knows when to up his game and will do so if Price and Maloney are prepared to step up to the plate. Knocking over fat europeans, losing journeymen, sparring partners and a contender Fury dealt with over a year ago when still a novice isn't ideal preperation for a highly charged young heavyweight like Fury IMO.
Fury looked disorganised in retreat though, and he didn't have to deal with a great deal of anything coming his way. Certainly not Price's ramrod straight right hand. Chisora was slow, shorter, with a way shorter reach, and telegraphed his shots horribly, but still managed to clatter several big shots into Fury's jaw.

Price is more accurate, hits harder, throws more shots, and is a certainly a much better combination puncher than the woeful Chisora who turned up against Fury.

Fury can only beat what is put in front of him, but what was put in front of him in Chisora that night, really wasn't much. Dallas may not be anything special, but he was unbeaten, and compared to Chisora at least, in shape even thought he came in at short notice, he'd fought only 8 weeks before.

I'd gladly be involved with Hennessy Sports if the chance come my way, but do me favour yid whatever your name is, never become a judge or referee for the Board. We don't need anymore Parris'. Anything remotely close would end in a landslide victory. The Germans on the otherhand would welcome you over there with open wallets. Spare me your tedious little boxing history trip ... I was buying tickets from Maloney with my pocket money when Frank was starting out decades ago.

You have to remember, jamesmcdonnel, that whatever Chisora lacked on the night against Fury, he is a lot more rugged than Price, who hasn't had a single question asked of him in the pros. Price is all about dishing it out, but when the going gets unpleasant, and it will against Tyson, I reckon he will unfold dramatically. Boxers can change, especially when they turn pro, but I just can't see Price coping with adversity against some like Fury who is now well on the way to establishing himself as a championship fighter.

You might have been buying tickets, but did you actually watch the fights? Or were you rabbiting all the way through them?

It's you that needs steer clear of scoring fights if you think Fury beat McDermott 'fair and square' in their first meet. You must be pretty much the only person I've heard say you thought Fury won it. Are you Terry O'Connor?

Maybe so, but Price has a very good defence these days. Fury relies on his chin way too much, and no matter how good he thinks it is, if he keeps taking big flush shots hes getting hurt.

I dont think Fury has the skills to put Price in any kind of trouble. He is technically very poor. He has quick hands, but his punch technique is pretty awful.

We shall see in the fullness of time, If i turn out to be wrong, I'm sure Ill get over it.

We all except that David Price has all the attributes to be a very good heavyweight. Height, reach an utter ramrod of a left jab and some KO power as well as showed in his last fight against Tom Dallas. But there are still in my eyes questions about his chin in the paid ranks and stamina too as he has only boxed 31 rounds in the paid ranks to date and has only gone as far as the 7th round in one fight. While in comparison Tyson Fury has been 19 rounds with John McDermott (10 in the first fight in what many on here think is a robbery, and with that 9th round stoppage in the secound fight) and now has been 12 rounds with Derek Chisora. In terms of technical ability I do agree that Fury has alot of work to do and he can and will improve so it will be an interesting fight once it gets made.

Talking about chins - did not Price fight Fury in the ams? If so can anyone remember whether Fury was vertical or horizontal at the end?

Fury has never been knocked down in the ABAs or Pro and was beaten on points by price ...Price was a 24 yr old man and Fury just a 17 yr old young boy so its not worth mentioning really is it

Fury has only done these rounds because he lacks a KO punch but is a nice boxer, Fighters do not get paid for overtime so if you can take them out like Price has be doing do it, How many rounds had Lewis boxed before he won his first pro title. As long as they are doing the work in the gym or at training camp it dose not matter how many rounds they do in the ring.

You get the impression that Price would be much more comfortable over the longer distance than Fury purely because he fights at a steady pace that applies educated pressure he doesn't waste many shots not to mention how fantastically conditioned Price looks every time he gets in the ring.

Prior to Lennox Lewis fighting Jean Chanet in thirteen fights he boxed 37 rounds which answers your question. What I am saying is that if you are regularly flattening your opponents inside 3-4 rounds, people are still going to say it is all well in good flattening a guy within 3-4 rounds, but he is not going to be able to do it all the time, and don't get me wrong I do rate David Price very highly but I am just saying that there are people going to be wondering about his stamina in the later rounds that's all, and if you were going to ask me tomorrow who would win out Tyson Fury and Price. I would say Price due to his superior technical ability and shot selection as he is not wasteful in his punches like you said.

You are probably right - Fury is now a 23 year old barrel of lard who fights like one and Price is an accomplished, well trained and conditioned professional who will still beat him hands down - even though Tyson's dad (watching on TV with his feet up doing hard time) is keeping an eye out for him.

However in this instance, completely agree. Fury has nil balance, when Price lands hard Fury will be in big trouble.

what about if Fury lands ?? Price was knocked down 18 times in the ABAs and got stopped ...what if he cant get Fury out of there ?? Fury will be to much for the weak chinned price, trust me Maloney will not let Price anywhere near Fury at this early stage, well not if hes got any brains he wont
