For people who only know that Max Schmeling was that Nazi who fought Joe Louis, this is a good movie to watch. It shows Max in much better light. The movie accuratly shows that Max never joined the Nazi party and even risked his own life in helping the Jews. It also shows that despite the party's wishes he would not dump his Jewish manager

There was the normal bending of the truth for "artistic purposes". Although I don'tthink it was a great boxing movie, it was not one of the worst either.
