Our next world champion who will it be ?????
Re: Our next world champion who will it be ?????
Anyone think any of the guys listed has a chance of being a real world champion, i.e number 1 in the division? Barker has the best chance because he's the only one scheduled to fight the best man in his division obviously...

No way on God's earth does Herbie Hide win major title. He wouldn't stand a chance against Cunningham, Huck, Tarver or Lebedev.
Re: Our next world champion who will it be ?????
Brook IMO, still don't think Degale is that far off a World title with a few good wins
Re: Our next world champion who will it be ?????
I like Martinez but i think he's slightly over rated and Barker is a tough guy. We'll see what happen comes the fightDeserter wrote:Suspect you're a force of one on that one. Cruise Herbie Hide
Middle Smigga
Welter Vassell, Witter
Lightwight Crolla
Super feather Foster jrReally?! I'm struggling to see how any of those listed above have any chance of lifting a world title. The likes of Hide and Witter are well past their prime, while the likes of Smigga and Vassell haven't shown anything to suggest they're anything more than British title level (no shame in that).
Some strange choices I agree. Smigga???? May win a twitter ranting belt. Hide he been well rated for a few years but wont get a shot even if he does will lose. Witter cant even win prize fighter his day is gone.

Smigga?
Well, it is your opinion and your entitled to it
I thought the 'Boxrec Bounce' was for fighters who currently posted, but i guess not
In my view, not even Prime allegedly could manoeuvre Smith to a recognised world title

Large number of names on that list who have no chance. Brook and either groves or degale would be my bet. Would be amazed if sturm doesn't stop macklin next time out.

If Macklin beat strum in his own back yard why not if he got the fight on home soil at the NEC mate ??Trojans44 wrote:Large number of names on that list who have no chance. Brook and either groves or degale would be my bet. Would be amazed if sturm doesn't stop macklin next time out.

6 Of the best for me
1. Macklin
2. Brook
3. Rhodes
4. Hatton
5. Monroe
6. Groves
If all managed right and put in the right fights these could be world champs inside 12 months no doubt. Macklin beat him once why not again,Brook has all talent in world boxing,Rhodes has the expiernce and ability, hatton has his brothers money and contacs
Monroe has the determination, and groves has the grit and plan power

Re: Our next world champion who will it be ?????
I find that list quite depressing to look at. There's not one fighter that gives me any real hope. Perhaps one or two might pick of a title, but i dont see any true world beaters that could fly the flag for us.kamicazze wrote: Heavyweight Haye, David Price

I don't think any of those guys will become a World Champion unless its some dodgy vacant title and they've been matched with a 'sure thing' or a WBO title shot against some eastern european fighter who no one has heard of.kamicazze wrote:If you go through the divisions then there's a chance of titlists in nearly each division.

Brian Magee should win his Interim title fight.
Will Matthew Hatton get his WBA Welterweight title fight.... Mbaye has just lost, the Morrocan who beat him looks beatable though.
Olusugan has a slight chance, depending on the nature of the belts.
Quigg or Munroe should be looking for the IBF Super Bantam Champ.

Re: Our next world champion who will it be ?????
I reckon Sergio Martinez will steam roller Darren Barker so that rules him out as he is quicker and more experienced at world level. I reckon it is a tossup between Kevin Mitchell and Kell Brook as they are both well positioned in their respective divisions and I am sure that their promoters allegedly and Eddie Hearn shall be successful in getting them both a title shot. James DeGale is rebuilding after losing to George Groves who should be concentrating more on establishing himself as the best 12 stone fighter around in the UK.
