Klitschko-Brock have agreement!

Post by Neri »

From fightnews.com

By Karl Freitag
Main Events VP Carl Moretti has announced that the company has an agreement in principle with the Klitschko camp for Calvin Brock to challenge WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko on HBO September 24. Moretti told Fightnews.com that the Klitschko camp has a letter from the WBC approving another optional defense. Main Events President Kathy Duva added that it would not be possible to negotiate a deal for a bout between the winner of Hasim Rahman vs Monte Barrett until after the August 13 fight because it is unknown now what the winner would be worth. "This is about Don King wanting to make a better purse split," stated Duva. She also stated she doesn't understand why a number of prominent boxing writers are claiming that Klitschko hasn't fought credible opposition while saying Rahman has earned a title shot. It was pointed out that after being knocked out by Lennox Lewis, Rahman lost to Evander Holyfield, had a draw with David Tua, and lost to John Ruiz, before defeating Al Cole, Mario Cawley, Rob Calloway, Terrence Lewis and Kali Meehan (who was kayoed in one round by Klitschko's last opponent Danny Williams).

I aint interested in this fight one bit. I dont think Brock has the extra quality and experience to make this interesting unless a ring rusty Klitschko shows up (Which after nine months out is a distinct possibility).
But this fight should not be happening in the first place

I am tempted to suggest a repeat of W.Klitschko-McCline but i think Brock has more heart and courage than McCline and is more likely to go out on his back than retiring in the corner after 10 rounds of none violence.

Is it me, or has the heavyweight division become so bad that even the best matches fail to inspire.

At the moment it is just the idea of Klitschko and Finkel. The WBC has to decide it.
