Sorry mate, I was a big fan of yours, you had a lot of coverage here on cable at the time, as did Takaloo. You certainly where the favorite. Bad day at the office for you, not much more else, I've always said that title fights should be a best of three to decide the winner and would be interested to have seen the results of a best of three here.

Arnie was so hyped up you had to drag him off the ceiling, and that was on the way to the ring. Ultimately that led to his downfall.
Tak caught him with a beaut and that was it - all over.
The atmosphere that night was electric.
Arnie might let us have his take on it, when he's next nosying around here. :TU:
I was there too mate, seem to remember there being trouble on the way in/out of the ring for Takaloo?

That was Hatton v Matthews undercard? It's a bit of a blur got hammered afterwards!

Remember Farnell was favourite, whole place was in shock at the finish..

It was a good venue I thought.......been anything like that there since?

Had a group of middle-aged ladies behind me shouting "Come on Richard" all the way through the Hatton fight!

Yes m8 the atmosphere was electric I didn't think nothing could stop me that night, I remember walking to the ring and the noise was deafening I looked to my side there was a huge guy with a big gold chain round his neck shouting Arnie Arnie he had tears coming down his face that got me started, we r the champions music blasting, Roy Keans football top on I started singing myself I lost complete control of my emotions, when I got in the ring I was to stiff and that's that really, I was devastated at the time but now I can tell my guys about my experiences and how to react when the pressure is on and so on learn from ur own experience as they say. :TU:

Takaloo was a good, British level fighter. Nice guy too.

However 'World Champ' is stretching it, to be honest. The WBU is a total sham and granted the WBC isn't much better, it is still much, much , much higher regarded than the WBU.

Does the WBU still exist?

Takaloo back to fighting and in Prizefighter, no less. He will do ok, but can't see him winning it. He could always bang a bit, so it will be fun I am sure :TU:

Will Takaloo have to box a four rounder prior to Prizefighter to prove his suitability after a spell away ? It was required of a couple of others, Robin Reid included.

Arnie, I remember the nightmare you had with Sergio Acuna. Already ten years since that nearly series of Light-Middleweights.

I can't be sure, but I think they managed to charge his wife with it, but he didn't. You can prob google it to confirm.

It was over something like 5+ years too, so pretty serious indeed if my memory serves me correct.

Personally I absolutely detest people who move to this country and then frig the benefit system.
well you'd probably love walking through Wembley or edmonton with its huge somalian communities, ive never met a somalian man over 30 who didnt wear a suit and who wasnt cheating benefits. Also avoid Slough the hordes of Albanians cheating benefits will put you right off your chicken tikka

I'm getting toward the end of Black Hawk Down so don't get me started about Somalians. They attack helicopters full of snipers like Keegan used to play away from home.

I think only the British actors are left, oh and that Harnet fella.

Omg how can anyone compare the wbu belt with the wbc belt???!!... now I know the wbc is an absolute disgrace with their super champions and diamond champions, recesss champions and retarded champions etc but some of the all time greats have held the wbc belt... next we'll be comparing Takaloo with Carlos Monzon!... hell why not they were both 'world champions' werent they!!!.....
Actually I think this prize fighter number is becoming more than a bit tired and sullied... am I the only fan who feels a little taken for a ride when we have fighters coming out of retirement for this competition who really shouldnt be anywhere near a ring???. Tak was a half decent domestic level fighter at best, and hes not liable to be any better now.
Nothing gainst Tak personally but hearing people say he was a world champion sullies the memory of the many greats of the past that werent able to win world titles or in some cases even fight for a world title, back when world titles were 'world titles'. We need to remember that the world titles of today bare little comparison to the past and that in many cases the whole value of the name 'world champion' has been lost....
rant over for now... :box: :bag: :shame:
ps Tak will probably lose his first fight....
