With Anthony's shrinking routine there is now more than 40 pounds difference between them.

Danny lost a fight to a former light heavyweight champion, Anthony lost a fight to a football player.

Yeah i can't see it happening again plus i reckon Danny should fight at Light Heavy where he is strong Cruiser aint his weight.
Mundine is chasing a title at Junior Middle doubt they will meet again.. Would be interesting though if it did happen.

I Like how everyone thinks losing 11 kiló's is easy at 38.....almost 39, great have an opinion at what was Dannýs best weight, but please at least pretend to know something about human anatomy, and can you imagine how plausable this feat would be to achieve and actually compete well at Light Heavy after weighing 90 kilo's.

He's made his bed, now he has to lay in it, 2 of Danny's toughest fights of his career back to back IMO, he's had a win while getting marked up and a good beating by a Hall of fame fighter who was in great condition and lets face it, it did look like Green was tailor made for Tarver, Cruiser is his division now and i honestly couldn't imagine the man running back down to Light Heavy.

Every fighter has a guy that has all the tools and attributes to beat him, it just took Green 11 years to find that man......yeah Mundine jabbed him to bits with little to no power, Green fought with stupid agreesion and no plan B,but Tarver carved him up, and mentally broke Green in that fight.

He should stay at the weight, he can build it back up and have a rematch with Tarver as a possible swansong, but Cameron, and 2 other top 10" ring"(not boxrec rated) fighters and then take on Tarver.

I don't think it will happen now, it should of happend when Green got the WBA light heavy weight belt. I still think Green can make light heavy, the people that say it would be to hard for him to lose 10, hey that's boxing 10 kg is very common for a boxer to lose. I don't know why Mundine is dropping down to light middle. I believe he hasn't looked the same since he left super middle. I think the smartest move for both camps was to fight when Green was WBA light heavy champ. I really don't understand why it didn't happen, the oppurtunity for both to ge lots of $$$ has gone, well none of them have to stand on a door or work on a building site, but I think their biggest oppurtunity has gone.

Well said "Dawg. I was having the very discussion with a mate over the weekend. He was adament Green should go to Light Heavy. But when i started explaining that even a super fit green at 85kg (small cruiser) would have to lose another 6 to get to light heavy his opinion started to change. Green is a cruiser now. i think the only way he gets back to light heavy is for a fight with Choc. I just dont think there is much interest, by the boxing fraternity or the general public, in a rematch.

Danny doesnt have to fight at 175 he just has to weigh 175 the morning before the fight. Cloud weighed in a 175 and fought at 190 for his last defence a couple of weeks ago. Chavez Jr weighed in at 160 but fought at 180 against Zbik. Im sure Danny could make the 175 limit without much hassle

honestly im suprised it never happened. Although the fight wasnt really close the public would have gobbled up another fight and they both would have made millions again.it wa also strange that When green retired in 07 mundine spent the whole time calling him out, then when green came back he was nowhere to be seen. Anyway i guess i would watch it if they fight again, but im not sure it would do good numbers- they have both lost fights recently and people might be turned of by it. Although i should add, loosing to Garth wood and loosing to Antonio tarver are two very different things

i know the anthony huggers will blast this, but i think mundine knows a rematch could only happen at light heavy, and it gives green a better chance if it were to happen.

who wins? i don't know. but green would want the rematch more than anthony. mundine earns plenty without needing the fight too.

but i think there is close to zero chance of ever happening.

Danny is a blown up cruiserweight anybody who knows anything about boxing knows that , and whos followed his carrier mate as Mark said it is very very very common for boxers to loose 10 kilos ecspecially in the pros where they rehydrate after a 24 hour weigh ins.. Kostya tszyu for example mate he walks around 75kg, he use to make 63.5kg .. the list would go on if i name all the boxers who loose 10 kilos or more for a fight..i dont need 2 pretend to know anything about the human anatomy if i wanted to know about that i'd learn that at in a science class ;;-)

Maybe you should have looked abit harder in class. Dont compare guys the size of Danny to guys such as Kostya. It is apples and oranges. Whether someone only has to weighin at a certain weight, and then fight at another is irrellevant. the simple fact is a fighter has to put his body through punishment to get down to the lower weights. As we know, the older you get the harder it is to shred the kilo's. Green could make 79kg's for a Mundine rematch, because he wouldnt have tobe 100% to beat Mundine, I am confident of that. The issue is is danny better suited to LH or Cruiser at this stage of his career. Against the right opponents I think he is still be suited as a light weighing cruiser.

No he's a man who's almost 39, and when you get older it's extremely hard to lose weight, this isn't boxing knowllege it's common sense, your body and metabolic's slow and your body finds it hard to burn excess. your 25 and when you go thru the next 5-7 years of your life you will understand what i mean, for now you and Mark agree for probably complete different reasons, but you agree.

Wow Kostya use to fight at 75 KG...............hmmmmmmm, you sure about that? So he was like Fatten then hey.

The point of original post was purely about age and weight drain, he's in his twillight years as a fighter, and just because some do it, it doesn't mean they do it well, especially....especially at the elite level at the higher weights.

in his last fight he looked nearly fat in the face. i think it is hard to put that weight on but stay fit enough. he looked very fatigued very early in the tarver fight.

i think he should try and fight at light heavy next, and if it is too hard to get to the weight then fight as a light cruiser.

there r plenty of good fights at either weight.

it is not very very common for a fighter to lose ten kilos immediately before weigh in and then re hydrate ten kilos at all, what a load of shit. Kostya may have walked around at 75 kilos............a couple of months before the fight, but I'd be surprised if he was four kilos heavier than weigh in weight for any of his fights, save the Hatton fight, then five kilos tops. Perhaps you should try and lose five kilos over one-two days, re hydrate and then do twenty four 200 meter sprints with thirty second breaks before making such outlandish claims.

I here what your saying, but 1 is 25 years old and the other is 29. Green is 39, it's kind of like asking Hopkins to make middleweight again because it was his best fighting weight.

And lets just see how well Chavez does with that much weight drain at the elite level.....personally think his run at middleweight will be very short lived when he takes on a top 10 opponent.

And the point is he's been fighting at 90 Kgs for his last few, how did Chris Byrd and Roy Jones go after dropping back down from the highest weight late in there careers :KO:

I'm not disagreeing that Lt Heavy was his best weight, and i think theres a bit of regret from Green that he didn't get all those super fights at the weight when fighting at Lt Heavy, as we've seen Jones jnr, Siacca,Briggs and now Tarver, who were all Lt Heavy fighters and would have all been crackers at Lt Heavy. But it's now time to make his mark as a Cruiser, and i tend to agree with the majority about coming in around 86kg, the 2 guys who i think are the 2 best Cruisers in the world Cunningham and Ross always come in aroung 87kg.
