Is Froch just as bad as Haye, Degale and Fury

Post by h smithy »

I have just read the report on sky sports news website and I must say that I'm disappointed with Froch's comments where he is talking about his upcoming Super Six fight against Ward, I thought he was better than this, he is quoted in saying "Against Ward, I'm going to connect with a hurtful shot on the jaw section of the cranium and do some serious damage."

Is he saying that he is going to hurt Ward physically? if so isn't this just a bad as David Hayes and James Degales comments and actions towards Wladimir and George Groves respectively and Fury's rant at Chisora claiming he was going to KILL him?

Have Haye, Fury and Degale been called up before the board, if so should Froch join them?

Yep your right you idiot, they should bring him infront of the board for saying he's going to punch someone in the jaw, good job he didn't say he was gonna throw some body shots aswell.

But he is saying that his he going to do some serious damage, it's not that different from Fury saying he was going to KILL Chisora? Has any of the other fighters been brought up in front of the board yet in light of their comments / actions

What is wrong with Froch talking about landing a big punch on the jaw section of the cranium? Isn't that what every boxer wants to do? Who can blame him for wanting the stoppage? It takes a decision out of the judges hands and gives him an early night.

Nah, he's hoping to tickle him into paroxysms of laughter in the hope that the judges and audience in atlantic city will appreciate the non-violent gesture and give him the TKO win.

Well, what's the alternative?

He could do what Shane Mosley did with Manny Pacquiao & try & love his opponent into submission.

Unfortunately that didn't work for Shane; no amount of touching gloves & smiling could save him from defeat that night, although it probably stopped Manny from hurting him too badly! :TU:

Carl Froch simply believes that he has got the power to hurt and possibly even knockout Andre Ward in the final of the Super Six in Atlantic City, because he probably believes that Ward's jaw has not been tested enough and he thinks he is going to be the man that will inflict that first defeat on Ward's slate as a professional and he wants to win the fight so he can get a rematch with Mikkel Kessler or even fight Lucian Bute who I think he can beat as well. He wants the knockout and don't all fighters as well.

"Against Ward, I'm going to connect with a hurtful shot on the jaw section of the cranium and do some serious damage"

In other words, I'm going to land puches that do serious damage. I think it's safe to say that knocking someone down or out, or staggering them with a blow to the head is serious damage.

Froch would be in the wrong sport if his mindset was different.

Yes, he is saying that. I forgot, what sport are we talking about? Is it the one in which trained fighters are supposed to punch each other continuously?

Boxing is a brutal sport and Froch's comments only reflect that brutality. He hasn't said he wants to permanently damage or kill anyone. He has been honest about the aims of a boxer. And clearly he's also trying to hype the fight and intimidate Ward at the same time. I only hope he has more respect for Ward's punching power than he's letting on. He surely doesn't really think he can just walk through Ward?

Froch has a lot of respect for Ward and so does McCracken.

He is in training right now at Sheffield for the next 7/8 weeks then heading over.

Giving his gameplan up so early is a big mistake that could well end up costing him. Ward now knows that Froch plans to fight and will be able to adapt his training to be ready for it.

OMG - Froch is gonna lose now, because he's told his opponent he's gonna hit him, and try and hurt him !
Bet Ward never saw that coming.
I know it's the quiet time of the year, but is this thread serious ?

Froch has to talk up the KO, its the only chance he has of winning this fight. He wont get it though, what he will get is a right good schooling. I'll be rooting for him to prove me wrong, very wrong, but i just dont see it happening for him. I think what we will witness is a terrible ending to his super six run. He'll probably fail to win a round and be made to look amatuerish in the process.

I've only picked against Froch once before and that was against Kessler. I have a strong feeling he's going to lose against Ward.

No chance he'll get beaten that badly.
