Kell Brook - WBA title eliminator

I hope Kell Brook is a world beater I really do.

My issue (if thats the right word) is that for some reason he is seen as some sort of monster when in reality he has done nothing to justify the 'lovin' he gets on here.

If FW had made the match thats just been made he would get slaughtered, the fact that Eddie Hearn has done it seems to result in a different set of rules - anyway thats for another day.

I think "haters" is a tad strong....that implies we truly give a shit!

Maybe I'm reading this wrong, but you seem to be defending his previous Promotor, by saying if he'd arranged this fight, we'd have all been on his case.
Maybe right - maybe wrong.
However, what case is there for that very same Promotor not providing anywhere near this level of opponent, not giving him a chance to build his fan base here in Sheffield, and not allowing him to top a bill ?
I don't think it's a case of us all falling in love with Eddie Hearn but at least he's having a go with a recognised prospect.

Yeah, I was having a laugh with the politician quip. It often stands out to me when someone doesn't give a straight answer. I'd say Randall Bailey isn't just tough, he's possibly the most dangerous welterweight out there.

Not 'defending' his previous promoter as such.

I think its an 'average' fight to be honest, but is a clever piece of matchmaking for which Hearn should be applauded. I dont think FW would have received the same 'applause' is I suppose is what I am saying.

I can't recall anyone going overboard on Brook and calling him a world beater etc. Potential world beater? Maybe. However, the manner in which he brushed aside British and Commonwealth level opposition (Jennings aside ;;-) ) suggests he is a level above the domestic scene at least. If he beats Jackiewicz in style, I'd love to see him fight Bailey before going for a world title shot.

On a side note, I don't think the Berto-Zaveck fight is a foregone conclusion.

To add to the confusion, is this fight a WBA title eliminator for the proper title or the interim title (which just changed hands).

Surely this El Massoudi gets a crack at Shevchenko before the winner of this fight?

And then what of Matthew Hatton - wasn't he in talks to fight Shevchenko or Mbaye/El Massoudi.

Sorry to add, but interim titles are rediclous as they are, but the WBA Welter situation has been historically bad. Mbaye was interim champ for over a year not even close to world title against the champ - it makes a mockery of its existance.

Believe or not, I actually think there is room for interim AND intercontinental titles (Silver/Diamond shit no) if used STRICTLY in the way that they were created. Interim titles created when the main champion is injured or unavailable to fight and his status isn't clear - interim holders are mandated to fight the main champion should he return. Interim champions promoted to main champion should the fighter be unable to continue, or not fight in the devision... thats the only reason why there should be an interim champion.

Why would matchroom bother getting brook opponents who they thought he would walk through??? at this stage he needs continued testing n'dou was a step up even at his age and he passed with flying colours as expected jackiewicz is another step up it would appear that some people dont think its a big enough step are these people behind a great britsh prospect being brought along at the right pace or as it would appear wanting him tested at the highest level poss as soon as poss so they can say i told you so if he gets a hiding!!!! i believe real boxing fans would enjoy his exciting style and if handled correctly he really has the potential to mix it at top level but the haters do nothing but bring up the same arguments after each outing stop justifying these arguments with flaws you think you see against opponents that have taught us very little try getting behind a british fighter that has up till now done nothing but beat everyone he's fought and got a few people in the know believing he maybe a top prospect .
