as a recent member of box rec i have totally read more that 10,000 posts today. i enjoy the boxing writing which i have not seen since nat fleischer died. i graduated high school in 1970 the first thing i did was go to la to the olympic where i saw rick farris's second pro fight. i had been watching boxing from the olmpiuc since 65 i think. also i think i boxed him at a boys club tournament could be wrong. anything thank u you to all for a great afternoon.

Rick regularly posts on the Classic American West Coast Boxing thread; you could contact him there or PM him. He has a pretty good recollection of his fights - amateur and pro; if you boxed him, maybe he remembers you.

Can a fighter POSSIBLY forget someone he squared off against in the ring?

i think it would depend on the person someone with 300 or so fights could be forgiven for forgetting a few opponents

Without mental injuries/disabilites or anything of that nature. If a fighter has fought even 70/80 times, (like Louis or Ali) I would say then YES I COULD BELIEVE IT.

Y'know, that's a helluva lot of fights, will a fighter remember every single one? I think that any boxer who has fought in that numerical region would be forgiven for an opponent or two slipping his mind.

But it's a good question.
