i quite like capers, but with the anchovies and olives that makes for a pretty salty pizza.
Re: FOR SALE - MONTHLY BOXING MAGAZINE
Jon, let's stick to the facts shall we? This argument started because I said your claim regarding the average value of a magazine was meaningless. When you reacted with fury I explained exactly why that was the case. So far, you haven't been able to offer a shred of evidence to prove me wrong and instead have tried to deflect everything with your 'bet'.Jon Saxon wrote: I was willing to prove it, Derserter wasn't and that is the differance. Forget the bet, as even in your fantasy dream world it actually happened, and you actually won, you're completely missing the point, which is that it's actually utterly irrelevant to the argument. This is because it doesn't for a single second change the fact that my original point about your ridiculous 'average value' claim being meaningless remains 100% true.
You know this is the case, which is why you continue to duck those two simple questions I've posed you and instead resort to abuse, grand-standing and dick-waving.

What I am saying is really simple I am saying that based on 3 years previous sales figures and having a nose for the market I can work out what something is worth to MY company and I am willing to prove it.
Can I put it any simpler that that to you? I am tired of this and I have tried to show you how I work things out in a very quick way, I work in the grey area and thats the creative part that accountants don't get.
For example how many deals have went through due diligence only for the actual value to change during the process? well I don't let it get to that stage, I move fast, I don't wait for things to go wrong as it's my job to fix that once we own it.
PS I bet you will be seeing 'Ring TV' on PPV one day then suddenly it will all make sense to you.

But Jon, here's the great irony. I can actually agree with all of that. I've no doubt you can work out what something is worth to your company. It's just that you genuinely weren't saying that before - you were talking about the average value of a UK mag and it was that claim I took issue with (and continue to) - nothing to do with your business prowess or the fact that there's a grey area that accountants don't get etc - god knows, I had enough run-ins with the FD when I was a publisher to know that.Jon Saxon wrote:What I am saying is really simple I am saying that based on 3 years previous sales figures and having a nose for the market I can work out what something is worth to MY company and I am willing to prove it.

You seem to have leapt from me taking issue with one statement of yours through to somehow thinking your entire business prowess was in question.
Hopefully, however, with these kast couple of posts we can bring this long-running saga to a happy conclusion
Oh, and I'll have a margarita with tuna

Cool, I feel better for it and I also take your points onboard and you are right that I should have explained that what I meant was market value to us for us to then relaunch and take it to back to market.Deserter wrote:But Jon, here's the great irony. Tuna has its place, just not on pizza. Seafood should be clear of pizza other than chopped up achovies.
My mate has his own pizza named after him in Lake Como somewhere. Can't remember what's on it though. They asked me what I wanted, I think I blew her mind by asking for pepperoni, anchiovies, onions, chilli & capers.

Glyn - I've just had an off-line conversation with Jon and in true 'Dragon's Den' style we'll offer you two margaritas with pepperoni topping and an Oscar De La Hoya blow-up doll (never been used before) for 51% of your business
Re: FOR SALE - MONTHLY BOXING MAGAZINE
You drive a hard bargain... but we think you're over-valuing the business. We'll throw in the garlic bread AND barbecue wings, but for that we'll expect 99% of your businessGlyn Leach wrote:No garlic bread or barbecue wings? It's over now, sadly 'son' you have just walked into a room with a hooker that has been used by your mates and who is now dripping like an old hankie but for some reason you want to be the last one on.MachoMan09 wrote:Jon, with the greatest respect in the world, mate, an average magazine title in the UK is not worth anything like 1-3 million quid.
