So ESPN Classic Showed Paz-Haughan 3. lets start a petition

So ESPN Classic showed a rerun of pazienza -haughan 3 last night. finally the kind of classic boxing match that most of us hardcore boxing fans bought up in the 1980s didnt have a chance to see first time around and could only read about in magazines if our fathers or elder brothers were boxing fans.

Also finally something new and different to the usual bloody interminable rumble in the jungle, thriller in manilla or holyfield-Bowe reruns.

What is it with the boxing programme selectors of this channel, are they a bunch of retards or one man suffering from piles and unable to get his hand on anything other than those ali or tyson or holyfield fights,

In the usa espn classic always showed a varied diet of matches.......you wonder with the UK version and its boxing output what exacty the point is behind it all................to get viewers and loads of em (comparatively speaking) or to just fill the airwaves with repetitive crap and hope no one was watching, or there is just one last person who hasnt quite caught foreman-ali....


I dont know how to go about it but lets start a petition to ask espn classic to show more american fights from the 80's and early 90's they showed paz-haughan 3 last night, youd wish they would than show other relavent stuff like the first two fights or pazienzas clash with camacho the same year or haughans battles with camacho......

we actually had that one last week as well the second one. i just wish espn would dig into their archives a little show us guys like barkley, sims, curry coming up......or even just rerun those old early 90's superbouts shows!

U are right but they actually showed this a few months ago and they are again re-runs like mayweather - gatti, mercer- lewis, tua-Ibeabuchi, Quawi vs holyfield 1 and 2 etc which is so much better than thrilla and manilla etc but how much more footage must they have? and like someone said in the states and other countries they are treated to a huge selection of contests which is mouth watering and we are desperate to se its completley annoying

Vinny Paz was a character, I looked after him when he was here to fight Herol Graham, took him training at the fitzroy lodge every night, we was an hour late for the weigh in as he needed to train to get excess weight off, Frank was going mad, ......

Its only been the last year that espn classic has showed decent boxing in the States. Prior to that it was a steady dose of Robinson, Ali, Tyson etc.

Its just not the same thing so many of the youtube videos run at the wrong speed, i mean look at pazienza-camacho, now these guys are quick but not that quick! also the loading times and constant interruptions. I just prefer it on tv for convenience.

WOW! i agree pazienza was incredible his strength and physique when he bulked up and the way he lept his speed which was to me electrifying even at 168 altho he was much older than.....u must have some great stories to tell......did u see vinnie do weights , what kind of lifts was he doin on bench etc, when he was at 154-168 his chest was big for a boxer, all the more amazing he kept his hand speed. That shootout with jones jnr was incredible in terms of vinnies pazmanian devil rushes and hand speed and royy jones lazer like speed.

Hey Eric, great shot that. It's also Ted Bami in the picture, Dave Perriera who went on to train Anthony Small as a pro, Eddie Lam who now works with Al Smith's stable, Mark Reigate who got to 100 amateur bouts and is now a coach at the Lodge, amateurs Manus Barber, Kevin Gaywood and Grant Davies, who is a long time trainer at the Lodge. Good times those!

Fascinating....I heard he also had a routine where he drank loads of expresso a few hours before the fight and timed it perfectly so he wouldnt crash?
