Fraid so - perhaps Steve Collins will be a perminant analysis.

He said so in his article in the paper today - forget which one (read them all in work today).

He's not shown much loyality to SKY on this one.

Especially now SKY are demanding the competitive matches, bit of a sell out imo.

Good on him for switching, I say.

ITV show an interest in refuelling the fire for boxing in this country with competitive fights, I'd jump ship too. I wouldn't care that Sky were GOING TO respond to the competition- it'd be more exciting to me that there WAS some competition, an alternative to an unforgivable amount of crap matches.

Sky also have a pool on experts to give analysis, maybe Barry felt he would be getting more work on ITV. The guy has to earn a crust the best way he can.

Not entirely factual. SKY got the ball rolling by not renewing SN with a nice soft option contract. They initiated any move SN have made.

Frank has previous for going the soft option route - Lets wait and see after 12-18 months if ITV deliver the fights us fans crave for.

Oh and McGuigan still jumped ship and imo only becasue he had to share an opinion with other experts ;)

According to Alan Hubbard, in todays Independent On Sunday, John Rawling has had his salary doubled to jump ship from the BBC in September. If Barry has had a similar incentive, you can hardly blame the man, can you?

I actually thought SKY worked better last night without Barry, all three guys were calm and collected and waited patiently to get there point across and offered good analysis. As much as i like McGuigan i feel he is better on his own than in a group, he is a forthright character and sometimes others cannot get there points in. I think the switch benefits everyone.

Agreed. I actually made a thread last year whining about him doing that.
