Jesse is good but like many of the US boxers, he lacks international experience. I know he has a few international bouts but nothing like the Europeans. The Cubans take their teams on Euro tours fighting in the many tournaments there. USAB likes the dual meets but many times it's aginst Mexico, Puerto Rico, Canada or Ireland and more recently Italy. Boxing against Ireland or Italy is good because they have gotten very good and box with the European style that has been effective with electrnic scoring. Boxing the other 3 countries is like a sparring match against ourselves. USAB needs to send their teams to Europe like the Cubans and get seasoned in tournaments.
So to answer your question, I would love to see Jesse win gold but I don't think it will happen.

REASONS WHY JESSE WILL WIN GOLD:
1. Jesse is 3 and 0 in international competition.. stopped the guy from Great Britian.. Beat China's & Italy's best, easy..
2. Chris Pearson beat the 2008 gold medalist ( and he had no international fights) ..
3. Jesse beats the brakes off professionals in philly..
4. He mastered the art of hitting and not getting hit..
5. He Won all his olympic trail fights by double figures against USA'S best..
So, I think Jesse has a GREAT shot at gold :OhYes:

How many gold medals has USA won in the last 5 Olympics.....3! It was a risky move by Andre's coach to not let him box internationally. He didn't want other countries to see him before the Olympics. It was a big gamble but Andre was an exceptional boxer and they got lucky with that strategy. How many gold medals has Russia and Cuba won during those last 5 Olympics? Russia has less than 100 million people in their country. Cuba has like 8-9 million. Even Ireland and Italy won more medals than USA in Beijing. I rest my case.
I would love to be proved wrong and see Jesse and a whole bunch of US boxers win gold or any medal in London. I'm just being a realist.

Jesse is good and if he gets good competition between now and next July he has a chance. Lots of international camps & competitions would really help.

I'd say he has a chance, but I want to wait and see how everybody does in Baku first. I think he might be the best chance right now; I would say Jose Ramirez but 132 is too tough. Spence will have it tough at 152, as will Warren. I think they are the top in USA in my opinion.
