You have to respect McCracken. He is such a safe pair of hands.

I remember in December 2008, when he spent all night with his mother who sadly passed away - then jumping in the car to be in Carl's corner as he took on Jean Pascal for the world title. McCracken never mentioned a word of it to Carl until he'd won the fight. Even despite being heartbroken he remained cool and professional.

Robert McCracken is a thoroughly impressive individual. There aren't many people I respect more in the sport.

Top fella and a good fighter in his day

I like him as well he seems to be so damn calm in the corner in between rounds and yet so incisive in his advice to the Cobra, and another cracking interview

I was once queuing for a train ticket to Brum on a saturday morning at Marylebone Train Station and heard a really recognisable Brummie accent behine me. I turned around and it was Rob McCracken. I basically started chatting to him in the queue and sat by him on the train and we chatted boxing for 2 odd hours. Top top bloke.

At one stage on the journey Carl Froch called McCracken and he let me speak with Carl. This was at the time when Froch was rumoured to be lining up a fight with Jermain Taylor for the vacant WBC title.

At the end of the journey McCracken gave me his mobile number and told me to pop down to the Real Fight Club gym in Old Street where they were training at the time to come and watch Carl prepare for his upcoming world title fight. Best train journey ive ever been on :D
