'The Real Deal' is the greatest of all time IMO. Sounds absolute class when announced as well, has a real ring to it.

Jamie "Featherman" Howe - a strange nickname for a heavyweight.

Herol "Bomber" Graham always amused me. "Pecker" would have been more appropriate.

He got the nickname for his running habits, rather than his punching ('ie bombing it down the high street')

Every single Aussie fighter who fought in the States, since the year dot!

For me Bonecrusher Smith, Buster Douglas, The Motor City Cobra (Tommy Hearns) and Marvelous Marvin.

If Michael Nunn had retired, he would of the best nickname ever.

In Britain; Bomber Bruno/Graham, Iron Hague and Chris 'P' Bacon

As for a bit of fun; 'Iowa' Mike Tyson, and of course the Zimbabwean Heavies; Jukebox Timebomb, Hitler the Killer and Captain Cleopas Marvel were pretty cool.

I was a big fan of Herol too. I just meant that he normally pecked and poked rather than threw bombs, although he could land with authority when he set himself and timed his opponent coming in. The punishment he dished out to Rod Douglas was shocking. But normally he wouild make an opponent beat himself, if you know what I mean?

But as mentioned he got his nickname from school because he used to 'Bomb around' (run) everywhere.

So it does make sense.

One Ingle fighter that's nickname perhaps needs a bit of debate is Johnny 'The Entertainer' Nelson...

Yep, Bomber meaning runner makes better sense. As for Johnny Nelson, I heard he used to be known as the "Gannet" because of his voracious appetite, but I think only his mates called him that. It would have been a rather odd ring nickname.

Awesome awesome name and my all time favourite.

Also Roberto 'Hands of Stone' Duran, LOVE that one two, summed him up perfectly for me.

God this could go on forever....sooo many goood ones now i think of it.
I think you'll find LaMotta's nickname was The Bronx Bull. People get it mixed up with the title of the film.

Always liked Mike 'The Bodysnatcher' McCallum myself. What a fighter he was!
