I cant see it, his style relies on speed, once a few years have past especially inactive ones it will pointless him coming back. His time is now, he should go out all guns blazing imo - win or loose thats what gains you respect people love a valant looser just as much as they like a winner in this country. If he retires now he would be labeled a fraud and rightly so. He's made his money from his fans now he needs to show it was for something.

Haye, could still have a career at Heavyweight fighting contenders. He did last the distance with the monstrous Wlad, albeit he was beating convincingly.

There are decent and very hard opponents out there Adamek, Solis, and Povetkin. K2 won’t last forever, 2 years and I think both will have retired. It’s getting to the point they (K2) will be struggling to get fights, simply due to their dominance.

I can see this scenario. Adamek will probably be gone in a couple of years too.Cannot see him sticking at heavyweight long, and he's going to get a whupping off of Vitali.


Vitali will be gone soon, and Wlad is likely to run out of decent opponents.

Haye will probably have another crack, he could probably beat Chagaev or Povetkin, neither have looked impressive in some time.

It would be hard to find anyone since the first Sam fight that actually did better than Haye, he won a few rounds, staggered Wlad and marked him up quite a bit. I was annoyed and wanted him to push it, but still, he did ok in compasion to most other active heavies out there. Don't see why he should retire if they have not, to be honest I would like to see a rematch, now Haye himself knows he can last the distance . . . But would be hhappy to see him fight Adamek (although they could have stayed at lower weights for that) or Povetkin.

I hope he fights on. He’s usually an exciting fighter. No shame in losing to Wlad. Took more rounds off him than anyone else in 6 years.

I think the Audley fight saw many turn against Haye. It did feel like a public execution. Good for David’s bank balance but not the sport or his standing.

I hope he comes back and makes a point by beating a few top contenders and eventually rematches Wlad.

With Haye's best interests at heart, there's just too much potential for a bad situation to be made worse if he continues.

Normally when a fighter loses, expectation and pressure drop away, but in Haye's case the release hasn't come from defeat. Right now he's in the position of scolded loudmouth ala Naz. For Haye, defeat has basically balanced the books in terms of karma, he built up a slate with his sales pitch and the most he can expect from defeat is that the haters as well as the gentle souls gravely offended by his verbal shenanigans, are sated.

Outside of a return bout with Wlad or a shot at Vitali, the only way he can regain stature is to come back and clobber a few good men. I say a few because you can't lose to the division's apex fighter (after slagging him silly), blame it on a gammy toe and then beat a contender and hope for a hero's welcome.

That's where the harsh reality of this sport comes into play. This isn't a movie and the likelihood of one of those contenders Haye had previously labelled fat and slow, laying him out cold, is quite high.

It's a gamble, either play it like Naz, enjoy your money away from the spotlight and then emerge from exile at some point down the line, hoping all is forgiven. Or play it fearless and get right back in the saddle.

With PPV off the table and Booth unwilling, I just can't see a comeback bout materialising.

I don't know where Haye is mentally right now. He's remained relatively silent after being hauled over the coals, from the sh*t-rag tabloid backlash to the teen chav twats on twitter getting lippy, his lack of communication makes it hard to gauge if he's taking it all in his stride, or whether it's consuming him.
