Was gona say this.

Also like Mark "Too Sharp" Johnson
Pernell "Sweet Pea" Whitaker
Jermain "Bad Intentions" Taylor

and NO, Fidel Castro Smith didn't change his name. :shame:
I like the other two but I always thought Taylor's was one of the goofiest sounding ever.

Herol 'Bomber' Graham was named becuase he bombed around a lot ?
I'd imagine whether it was true or not it was for bombing people out of the ring, beating them.. probably inspired by Brown Bomber.

Pastor "Bad Cow" Maurin

(Surely it was supposed to be "Mad Cow" and got misinterpreted, and stuck? Even so, Mad Cow would still be a bit odd).

Similarly, surely Oliver "Atomic Bull" McCall was originally intended to be Atomic Bomb?

What's the beef with Jess? I always found him to be OK.

J wrote:i always loved Andrew Six heads Lewis..i mean wtf ! out there or what...

as if having 6 heads would be of advantage...well i suppose cuts wouldnt be aproblem but youd have 6 times the target.
Apparently it was coined when he hit a sparring partner so hard that the guy said it looked like Lewis had six heads.

Lewis would later be re-christened "Turtle Head" as a result of having to abort a fight mid-contest (and losing by TKO) due to nearly shitting himself and having to race to the toilet.

Not a nickname as such. The Thais adopt "surnames" to match their promoter, sponsor or gym. Thus anyone going by the name of 3K Battery was simply sponsored by that company.

Much better in that regard is Panomroonglek Kaiyanghadaogym - or, in Thai, Panomroonglek Hadao Grilled Chicken Gym.

I think heavyweights have the best. Chris "Rapid Fire" Byrd, Corrie "The Sniper" Sanders, Frans "The White Buffalo" Botha and what was Timo Hoffman "The White Oak" or some nonsense? Class.

Hey Oliver you seem to know as much as me! Yes indeed you are right all sponsored names.

I always liked the name Pichit Sithbangprachen, try talking to him when you are drunk :D

what about Junior "the shitter" whiter?

I quite liked The Spinks Jinx as Michael had that herky jerky style that seemed to befudle Holmes.
