Re: Green to fight on
im glad he is fighting on though I wish it wasnt tarver. I just think that danny looses confidence very quikly when things dont go to plan and he seems to get crap. I could see exactly the same result because of this.

Here is the media report:

The URL says it all, bit of a worry though as this is not an easy fight and over there!

Re: Green to fight on
I'm glad he's fighting Tarver again i just hope it's not straight away, i want the Cameron fight and would love to see it put to rest.
It's not really the ideal tune up for a fight with Tarver, but he has made Cameron jump thru hoops and it would only be fair to give the bloke who imo has at least earn't the right to fight Green, regardless of how many levels above Vea,MCCracken and Ammann, Green is.
He was set a task, and he accomplished it.
Then of the back of that fight....rematch Tarver perhaps.

Re: Green to fight on
Channel nine has reported the fight with Tarver before the end of they year so I doubt there will be any sort of warm up. The report actually states there was talk of one (whether the question was asked I dont know).
I dont mind the fight. Green appeared so far from his best on July 20 I suppose he believes there was something just not right....maybe it wasnt the Tarver they expected !! Thumbs up to Danny for asking for the fight especially in the USA.Just have a game plan B and maybe a trainer who can give advice and not just motivation. Good Luck Greeny.

WHY?? I'm sure our Taxman ain't short of coin. Then again, Greenies manager is an accountant, so maybe there is a way not to part with more than 5% :Pdan h wrote:Apparently his facebook site says he is having a press conference today and will confirm he is fighting on and willl rematch Tarver

Not to make too many excuses for him but didn't he say he might have to retire before Tarver match due to his an appendix operation? That was the last I heard of it and then before I knew it he was fighting Tarver? I'm guessing he must have bee a little affected by the op etc?

No-one, other than hospital porters, is allowed to move a patient within the hospital, whether bed or wheelchair. And a nurse has to accompany them if transferred from emergency to a ward.

Re: Green to fight on
i think the problem was alot of people underestimated tarver (myself included) perhaps he should havemoved to cw sooner. Another thing is, its not although tarver was trailing on the cards, or it was a close fight. Tarver dominated pretty easily. Green had no answers. Unless something miraculous happens it will prob be the same as the first fight
Re: Green to fight on
Poor old danny his gona get his green ass whipped again by the 42 year old Tarver who is looking like bernard hopkins beating younger champions showing no sign of the age factor .. Danny should fight Shane Cameron the guy has done all that greens team has asked and still doesnt get a shot at a big fight or a big pay day the "mountain warrior" deserves his shot
Re: Green to fight on
I dont think Cameron has done much to think a fight against Green would be really spectacular. He had a war with Vea. If Green hit cameron as many times as Vea did it would be over very early. For Danny I think it is a goodfight, but not real competitive. G
Green to his credit believes he has seen the best Tarver and can beat him. At least he is taking on his conquerer again......other so called champs have done what ever they can to avoid people who have beaten them. Interesting to see tarver comment that the fight was in Australia. I'l believe the fight when I see it.

Re: Green to fight on
He had a war with Domy Vea coz thats the style Vea fights his in ur face for 12 rounds he has a war every fight he fights he can't help but trade. Styles make fights i believe Cameron put on a great performance and made a great ending to the fight by stopping Vea in the last round brutal K.O Shane wount take the Green fight as lightly as the Vea fight he did get hit abit by Vea but because he thought he would walk through the punches with green he would be a hell of allot smarter fighter cautious and would box more.. That fight needs to happen gudluk 2 greeney either way..amwsnw wrote:I dont think Cameron has done much to think a fight against Green would be really spectacular. He had a war with Vea. Re: Green to fight on
I tell you what Green has balls if he fights Tarver again.
Re: Green to fight on
if he finds his testicles in the ring, then green has an exellent chance of winning.
the one time he went for the win, he had tarver really hurt, but didn't finish the job, he let tarver recover and paid the price.

Re: Green to fight on
I didn't see that part when Green had him hurt. I call it how I see it & poor old Green got schooled, maybe he did have him hurt, but a fighter with Tarvers class knows how to survive. You say the one time he went for the win. I think you must be talking about a time Green fought with just heart, come on boxing is a thinking mans sport, brains will beat brawn just about everytime.buster007 wrote:if he finds his testicles in the ring, then green has an exellent chance of winning.

Spot on Mark, Green will need to have more than just Balls to beat Tarver.Mark pawsey wrote:I didn't see that part when Green had him hurt. Re: Green to fight on
if u didn't see where green had him badly hurt then u need glasses. tarver admitted it himself. it was obvious to all. maybe u just chose to ignore it, who knows.
green spent the whole fight being a punching bag and hoping tarver would get tired.
heart?
u have to back your ability or why bother entering the ring. green did not back himself and panicked but just could not recover properly. no fighter in the world can do that and expect that tarver won't make u pay for it. he is hard enough to beat as it is.
i never said that he should just go nuts and hope for the best, lol.

Re: Green to fight on
I didn't see the part where Green had him hurt, not badly anyway. I think he did back his ability when he entered the ring, but than he walk into a big straight left, think it was in the first round, than he realized he was in a fight. I don't know what the game plan was during or before the fight. I tell you what but Green is tough, he certainly showed that.buster007 wrote:if u didn't see where green had him badly hurt then u need glasses. tarver admitted it himself. it was obvious to all. maybe u just chose to ignore it, who knows.

Re: Green to fight on
he panicked!!!!!!!!!!!
and couldn't get his composure when he needed to.
tarver was happy to take advantage of that and pummel him.

Re: Green to fight on
Greeny doesnt need to find his testicles !! That is one thing Greeny doesnt lack. He went to germany, canada etc and has always come back from adversity. Green was in a place he was not familiar with and couldnt adjust. he doesnt need to find his balls, he needs to find a cornerman (trainer) who can give advice on how to implement strategies when your original game plan is not working. If I was betting man, the odds are against Greeny. But he has done us proud before and won against the odds (yes, his victory over RJJ was against the odds !!).
As for Cameron having a different plan against Green...would that be the same one he had for Amman and McCracken ?? Where he also took punishment.

Re: Green to fight on
Tarver said himself that Green hurt him a couple of times. I think Antonio would know better than anybody else if he was hurt.Mark pawsey wrote:I didn't see that part when Green had him hurt. Psssst, keep it under your hat, but, boxers have been known, on occasion to say things they think might help them earn some more decent coin down the track.
Now, if Tarver can can help sow the seed that Danny could hurt him and therefore might have a chance in a rematch. Well, you can work out the rest, surely.
