De La Hoya admits drink and drug problems
Coke, alcohol, cheating on his wife, contemplating suicide.... Oscar gets it all off his chest in a tv interview last night.
Good luck to him, hopefully he comes out the other end a happier and healthier person.
Don't know if the video is online yet.

Re: De La Hoya admits drink and drug problems
The guy got caught cheating with a bunch of chicks behind his wife & family's back.
So suddenly it's a depressed/drunk/high De La Hoya to blame, and not the real De La Hoya.
A damage limitation exercise.

He also admits that it was him in the cross-dressing photos. Everyone accused them of being digusting liars when they went public. Just goes to show that money > the truth. ;;-)

Re: De La Hoya admits drink and drug problems
Do you think we'll see someone just hold up their hands one day and say 'shit, you got me' rather than blaming the usual drink, drugs & rock 'n' roll?
If you've got women throwing themselves at you all the time and your married then either do it and accept the consequences if you get caught or walk away. Same applies for drink & drugs

Not sure I quite get what you mean.... okay its taken 3 years but this looks like what DLH is saying.freddydoesdallas wrote:Do you think we'll see someone just hold up their hands one day and say 'shit, you got me' rather than blaming the usual drink, drugs & rock 'n' roll?

As for "blaming" the drink? Are you trying to say that you haven't done anything that you wouldn't do sober? I've certainly howled at Karioke and I wouldn't do that sober. I'm sure some people would only decide to take pictures in fishnets, boxing gloves, and high heels when pissed up also.
Not saying its correct to blame drink/drugs, but they do change your behaviour.

Even after half a bottle of absinth and a few linesi wouldn't be inclined to don the body stocking, heels, wig and lippy so he obviously enjoyed it but each to their own. doesn't mean he has to hold a full confessional to the world.stujones wrote:Not sure I quite get what you mean.... okay its taken 3 years but this looks like what DLH is saying.freddydoesdallas wrote:Do you think we'll see someone just hold up their hands one day and say 'shit, you got me' rather than blaming the usual drink, drugs & rock 'n' roll?

What i mean is that it's an easy out. I'm not having a go at them for what they do under the influence, more how they all seem to react. You get caught and the first reaction of people in the spotlight is to blame it on an addiction.stujones wrote:Not sure I quite get what you mean.... okay its taken 3 years but this looks like what DLH is saying.freddydoesdallas wrote:Do you think we'll see someone just hold up their hands one day and say 'shit, you got me' rather than blaming the usual drink, drugs & rock 'n' roll?

You've been caught drinking - I'm an alcoholic & with the love of god & my family i can make it through
You've been caught taking drugs - I'm a drug addict & with the love of god & my family i can make it through
You've been caught fornicating about - I'm a sex addict etc etc
It's all pr bullshit, they're just doing what they want

True True, although I think in DLH's case it came a bit out of the blue. The were rumours and all, but very much that. Then, bang announcement he was going to rehab. It did catch many un-awaress and that is why I think this is more a geniune problem that he has been hiding in denial about. He wasn't caught snorting lines or pissed up - his team did a pretty good job of covering up the fishnet things.freddydoesdallas wrote:What i mean is that it's an easy out. He's not admitted a sex addiction, infact goes on record to say he is not a Tiger Woods. He is definately insinuating that he wouldn't have strayed had he not been pissed though.
At least DLH admits that this drink and drugs thing happened during the end of his career, and not after exclusively after he retired.

Only problem is that he's married.

Re: De La Hoya admits drink and drug problems
Oscar paid £20m in an out-of-court settlement to the NYC stripper who photographed him.
Part of the deal, was she hand over the heels, stockings and wig to Oscars
