Presser is rescheduled for Monday apparently. Can see why, with all the football transfer activity and an England match Friday, no way boxing would get space in the nationals on Friday. No Prem this weekend, fighting chance of coverage on Tues, despite another England match. Bit gutted, was looking forward to that presser, not generally a fan of them but there have been a couple of gooduns latelyG0mez wrote:So it's OFF then.

Re: 'MAJOR' announcement expected Thursday from FW
Spud is guilty of being far too loyal to his employers and percieving insults where there is none.
A few months ago, after a Wlad interview on SSN I described Wlad as being ' a credit to the sport'. I then got a message of Spud asking what my point was? I repeated that Wlad was a credit to the sport and that I have always liked the Klits. He then accuses me of playing a 'clever game' and deletes me off Facebook. He obviously thought I was jibing Haye. All very strange.
Quite sad really as when I have met him I always got on with him....

Re: 'MAJOR' announcement expected Thursday from FW
I've known Spud for over 10 years.
He's an acquired taste, but then again must of us are.
To my knowledge he's worked for Maloney, Hennessey, Haye, Coldwell, Hatton, Hobson.
Whenever he takes a job he goes on a crusade defending his current employer to the hilt, often with rose coloured specs, and, often just to wind people like me up.
No one's perfect, but ultimately the guy's in love with the sport, and for one, I like him.
He's made enemies along the way and fallen out with a few, and I have winced when I've ben told about some of his antics - as a Moderator for instance.
It always amazes me how his name always springs up somewhere every few months - and he'll be loving it !

Warren show is on allegedly?

Other than he was probably the reason why quite a few other forums in the past were closed.tonyevs wrote:Jon Saxon wrote:

Spud was a former tea boy for one or two big promoters. He naturally seen his role as being alot more significant ...
He was also something like a waitress or stamp licker in accounts in the army - but wore a parachute regiment tie-pin for effect.
And was a moderator on another web-site. Banned a few people who ridiculed him .. Tried to phone their employers
in the hope of losing them their jobs..
Kinda all you need to know really.

Apparently Frank is showing the U.k vs U.S Tickets for troops Combined services from the Royal Albert Hall live on allegedly for charity but the channel will be showing live fights so paving the way for PPV in future?..Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:i've heard that it will be on normal Sky Sports but i think a few people, and I might be wrong here, think that maybe because FW has his own channel (allegedly) that there is nothing stopping him doing it as a PPV on this channel.............Final round wrote:Warren show is on allegedly?

I was under the impression they were only refundeing people who had a problem with the broadcast and had requested a refund?stujones wrote:mmm - will have to check my bill.... I thought Sky were refunding all purchases of Haye vs Klitchsko cause of their cock up.

I thought cause the problem affected THOUSANDS of customers that they were going to do the lot. Could they trace who had a problem? I wonder how many played a fast one.Final round wrote:I was under the impression they were only refundeing people who had a problem with the broadcast and had requested a refund?stujones wrote:mmm - will have to check my bill.... He has had an up and down forum career and at times was rightly regarded as a bell-end but on balance he's value added. The opportunities he has realised in boxing are more noteworthy than often credited. He's no Ray Arcel but he's done all right.

Re: 'MAJOR' announcement expected Thursday from FW
Have to disagree on this one, the millionaire scottish business entrepreneur Jon Saxon is the Duncan Bannatyne of this forum and way too savy for the likes of Spud.mickey1975 wrote:Its unfair to compare posters of different era's but for my money Spud outclasses Jon Saxon every day of the week. its all about styles, though. stylewise i think Spud's paranoid mania, and his toplevel experience over a number of years, blends well with Saxon's more bullish style. it's close to a pick'em for me, mate

spud's workrate has been patchy of late, though, whereas Saxon's post output has been consistent.
