He's got a really interesting story and enjoyed the piece here on him some time back.

Hopefully he can have a few more and see where he ends up.

Should get a British title shot eventually if he keeps improving. Good prospect but hard to tell until he gets to that level, I think.

The guy seems to have changed his ways but I wouldn't call him a role model. Am looking forward to seeing him step up because he's certainly got size and power.

Enjoyed his interview on Bunce's radio show last week. Especially the fact that he goes into jails to teach boxing to rehabilitate the prisoners and half the guys in the jail already know him from his previous life!

Like others have said I wouldn't call him a role model, although full credit to him for turning things around and getting back on the straight and narrow.

As for his ability as a boxer, I've never seen him box.

I was at Sheffield watching too & for me just like any other prospect particularly heavyweights it is hard to gauge until he steps up in class.

You hear lots about him, but he is not managing to get much TV time. I am anxious to see what he is like myself as not managed to see him box yet. He looks a beast and could be a good player on the domestic scene in the next 12 months, just needs to up the quality of oponents.

All in good time Steve.
Appreciate time may not be on his side, but ironically due to his recent circumstance he has remained in fine fettle.
He's working with good trainers, in a good gym, and has the backing of a good Promotional outfit.
Between them they will know precisely when to step him up.
He's at least British level.
I wish him all the best.

Agreed. Of course there's something to be said for somebody rehabilitating bad ways, but surely someone who hasn't been a criminal in the first place is an even better person.

I have never actually seen the guy box. How would he fare against say Sam Sexton or someone of that level?

I've seen this guy fight a few times. He's fast & well co-ordinated for a heavy, good reflexes & can bang. He's been fighting fairly low calibre of opponents, which I don't have any issue with at this stage, I think it is to be expected. Impossible to know how he'll do until we see him against someone who can put him under a bit of pressure...

This guy is the surprise package in the heavyweight division I feel! I don't think he'll get to David Price's level but I think he'll do well IMHO, hard as he doesn't have the am experience but he'll be brought along at the right pace! Especially by the Ingles! Dominic Ingle is good with his fighters IMO...

price will only be as good as his chin lets him, he could well be exposed at british title level although his skill are far higher, unfortunatyely, as a heavyweight, the chin is your best weapon as its going to be tickled along the line.

Good call. Although i imagine Dallas will be looking for some confidence builders before taking on such a fight.

I think they are both good calls and the types of fights Rich and the team are looking to make for him this season. Clearly Rich needs to make progress this season but there's no rush - he's got the tools but no amateur experience. When Dom feels he's ready for the big push then he will go for it. He's taken a lot from highly competitive spars with the likes of Fury and Chisora.

I take is Buncy is Yogi bear now? I only say that because nobody else signs off with 'Adios'.

Isn't Towers pushing it for age though? I guess he's not quite as far gone as Skelton was but still :D

Needs to get a move on IMO. Would be good to see him challenge Fury, so an eliminator in 2011 would be ideal. Fury will hopefully be looking to win a Lonsdale belt outright and is always looking for opposition so that gives Towers, maybe 6-12 months to make sure he gets a shot.

So I'd never heard of this guy until today, looked him up on youtube and was pleasantly surprised, quick, decent skills, some dig... how come no more discussion?

his problem at the moment is hes fighting nobodies , sure he will need to be stepped up slowly due to the lack of experience but puttingh him in with overweight belerussians and Bulgarians aint the way forward , hes not got the time to hang around fighting at that level , needs to be out very regular too , personally think Daniel Peret would be a step up from the lads hes boxing lately , id go Peret then onto someone Uk Based , Big Larry maybe , hes got to be stepped up sooner or later , unless his team dont have much confidence in him .

His back story is a promoters dream he is massive and ripped and would grab headlines i suspect there is a master plan devised for him or at least hope there is because even if Price is world level he is quite a boring charater Fury is shit as is chisora . No one knows what level Towers is at needs to fight but runs the risk of being avoided if he shows too much promise tough call needs better promotion .

Would like to see him in with Page to see how he adapts in the ring, if not him then maybe Dallas. He has been been put forward to fight Fury for the EBU-EU belt but that fight will never happen.
