Time between fights??
Time between fights??
What's the usual / acceptable, amount of time you would expect a boxer to have between fights? Obviously assuming all is well i.e no injuries etc....

Re: Time between fights??
I would say as a novice 1 month; as a Commonwealth/British challenger - 4 months; as a world Champion 6 months; as a Floyd Mayweather - whenever the tax man decides!!!
At a higher level you have to have more time between fights as it's good to build up hype and training camp is a good 8-12 weeks and to rest the body for 6 - 12 weeks with light training between fights keeps freshness and longetivity.

Yes mate , it does depend on your level. I think a prospect should try to get out every couple of months. The more you move up , it takes a bit more time, then again , some journeyman are out every week if they can get the work.
Re: Time between fights??
From a performance point of view I would think 3-4 fights a year would be best for world champs. This used to be the norm and the lengthy wait between fights is based more around the business of negotiations and marketing, not about what is best for boxer performance or indeed for the fans.
