:shame: I'm a fellow Mackem, so I'm completely biased. I think he will improve and we'll find out if he's gonna make it, when he moves up.

allgood, I don't see any difference of Jeffries at super middle. Not sure if he's going to make it.

It seems every time Jeffries fights "there could have been more", searching for answers etc.

What's the reason behind his below-par performances? Difficult opponent, or is he just not as good as expected?

He's won every round against a tricky southpaw, there's no pleasing some people.

The other guy is a southpaw, who's got no intention of winning. It was never going to be an easy night.

Fair comment Keith, but I'm thinking that he's there on reputation and past achievements. Be honest, why else would Sky keep putting him on? If it wasn't for the name he wouldn't be anywhere near TV based on performances. Nothing against Tony, don't know him but I don't see a future world champion in the making.

I'd love to see him in a tear-up. I think he'll come into his own then.

Almost 9 months without a fight is the main problem, but he'll get 8 rounds under his belt tonight. Another cut will rule him out for a few weeks now though, he can't keep having long breaks between fights, he won't build any momentum.

Bad bit of matchmaking if you ask me. Although, rounds were what he needed and that's what he got.

That was brutal - agreed yid- Leave Jim Watt alone - he has a better view of him than anyone; not going to butter anyone up and I admire that about him.

Leave Jim Watt alone? He says the same things over and over round after round.
