Paul Butler as well and Don Broadhurst is back in the gym as well.

I am sure Arnie will have no shortage of people wanting to get into his gym.

I thought that my post was clear ?

A couple of years ago Farnell had a gym full of prospects and recently most have left for one reason or another.

Please let me know if you would like any further clarification and I will do my best to oblige.

Not surprised tbh, prospects aint developing under Arnie imho. Such a strange choice from the start tbh, for a slick styled amateur like Gavin to go and train with someone like Farnell.

Im not entirely surprised by this news.

I know it seems to be the suggested solution to all british fighters in a rutt, but if Frankie could go to the Wild Card Gym and cut it under Freddie Roach then he'd almost be certain to reach the top. He certainly wouldnt be coming into any future fights overweight, thats for sure.

I know the focus seems to be all on Arnie.

But from reading the vague opener, it looks more about "the manchester thing" than blaming just poor old Arnie.

Frankie's dealt with a lot of poo lately outside the ropes, perhaps he just wants to freshen up the whole thing and that includes a new start closer to London.

Who would he join ? McDonnell ? Tony Simms ?

They are task masters.

Yeh it's all a bit convenient blaming the location though. If they were happy with the training they would stay, I mean Bellew blamed that and I'm not convinced, Liverpool is 45-60 mins up the road.

If its his lifestyle that is to blame for his recent poor form. Then I am not sure a move to London would help him.

Good point, London has many many more distractions than Manchester ever will!

Why do people always talk about Freddie Roach as some sort of miraculous magic man?

I heard from someone right at the top of the boxing foodchain, that when they were over in the wildcard, Freddie did sod all with Pacquiao for the most part, until the cameras and press turned up. He was either behind the desk or peeking over the ropes occasionally.

The main thing was the sheer volume of decent people to spar out there.

So if Frankie wants to improve, then going the Wildcard is a great move, Rock Steady Freddie don't have to get involved, just the class he can train with should be plenty of reasons to go there for a few weeks.

Sad to hear this, but if Frankie needs to make this change then I can't help but feel that Stateside is the way to go. His game is based on timing, footwork and elusiveness, and US trainers are more likely to be able to leverage these assets most effectively.
As much as I rate Tibbs, he's always been most effective with box-fighters and Gavin definitely doesn't fall into that category.
Complete wild card call, but would be interesting to see what Pernell Whittaker could do for Frankie as he'd understand more than most how to harness his natural talents and overcome the lack of power issue.
Oh, and before the abuse starts, I know Whittaker isn't proven as a trainer yet, hence referring to it as a wild card call

I dont think Roach could give Frankie the necessary time, although i dont know this as a fact. Just a pipe-dream on my behalf really. I know Frankie was considering setting up his pro career in America when he was turning-over. I just think that the american environement sets you up mentally and physically. It was the making of Benn, Eubank, Collins and Khan to name but a few.

There are plenty of decent trainers in the UK, just think that Frankie needs to entrench himself in boxing - which moving away to the states could facilitate.

You said there is no shortage of people wanting to leave, do you know this for certain? If so who wants to leave?

It's not Arnie's fault! People wanna pull him down! Frankie wants a change and that's it! Manchester has become a place of distraction for him! That's not Arnies fault! At the end of the day, Arnie is a good coach and Frankie is a good fighter! Fighters move in and so do coaches! There is not 1 coach in the world who knows it all and they all offer something different, they'll both do well I feel! I've said from day 1 that Frankie Gavin is destined for the top! Possibly domestic greatness!!

I wouldnt take that for one second. The bloke is the best trainer in boxing. The bloke is a master tactian and knows how to set his fighters up to win far more often than not - fact! Do you really think Pacquiao would pay Roach a fortune to train him, if he actually wasnt? I dont suppose Roach does every pad session, or holds every spit bucket but im sure if you were to ask those actually in the know what they thought about Roach and the input he has, im sure they would say that he is crucial.

The Wild Card Gym has great competitive sparring and gruelling training schedules. Gavin would benefit massively from thoss regardless of his access to Roach. However, without Roach, those training conditions simply wouldnt exist.

If Freddie Roach is good enough for PacMan then Im sure he wouldnt see Frankie Gavin too short. Personally I just think Frankie would benefit from such an intense gym environment.
