I'm fine with a lower rated boxer then Chisora but just not with the boxer they've chosen based on a few of his previous fights. Give me someone who will give it a go for a few rounds and get knocked out then a spoiler like Firtha.

For me choosing an opponent like Firtha could well undo all the good they achieved with with the Chisora fight on Channel 5 and the great ratings it did. Firtha will come into this just trying to survive for 12 rounds rather then trying to win, he'll be running and hugging at every opportunity making it a borefest and making Fury look terrible in the process.

As i mentioned earlier i would have rather they chose Tye Fields who would have made a fight of it for a few rounds plus looked the part for the casual tv viewer at home. Tye is fighting tomorrow(wednesday) so would have been in shape for September 17th and at this stage of his career he's just hanging around for a few more paydays before retiring so an opportunity to make £20/30k in Ireland probably would have been an offer he couldn't refuse especially considering he only made around £16k for Prizefighter.

In All fairness no one wanted this fight with fury, lets see who the next opponant is in december before we all start giveing out about this guy on the 17th, he took Povetkin the distance not so long ago.

Im pretty sure that with a potential voluntary British and commonwealth defence in december, that the other top british boxers will get in serious training now and be knocking on the door to fight tyson in December, I know if most where offerd 40/60k like rogan was to fight, they would snap it up in december,

Plus points for me are that the fight is on Terrestrial TV and it keeps Furry busy.

There were guys on Mike's record that were terrible (and not Tim Witherspoon style terrible). I'm not for one moment suggesting that Luke Fury will reach the heights of Mike Tyson, he clearly won't, but I think a couple of gimmes are inevitable and acceptable.

Let's see if he destroys this "tomato can" the way Mike did with the low grade opponents he was fed early on.

Does anyone know why Fury is now Irish? For the first 15 fights I'm sure he was either British, or 'not British, not Irish, I'm gypsy. I'm born gypsy like you're born black'.

Is it just because they're taking his tour over there for a pitstop?

Tyson Fury has the same accent as Bartley Gorman, the old King of the Gypsies. Both from travelling stock.
