With all due respect, I'm not that bothered what you believe.

I do still have the PM saved and it was sent to the moderators shortly after it was received. They dealt with the matter on here. Contact them if you really want any more info. Given the nature of the post, I also showed it to the police who advised me to keep it for my records. Given the personal nature and references of the post, it is not something that I would wish to post on here and add further fuel to. Antony Farnell can protest all he likes. It came from his account.

Finally, it was consistent with an earlier post that was posted - and swiftly removed - by the moderators by a then-member of Farnell's camp which alleged that abuse of young men was taking place at the Collyhurst camp. When he talks about hitting below the belt, the irony is palpable.

I don't want to post any more on this matter as I have said my piece. I made my comments in response to Farnell's unnecessary and childish jibe about a member of my family. I have now justified why I did so. Now, please can we get back on the topic...
well noone on here believes you and we take arnies side. arnie has challenged you to show proof which you havent and won't so the neutral observer has to side with arnie here until proven otherwise and i believe you are being overly dramatic and that arnie didnt do that
Speak for yourself, you don't represent everyones thoughts on here. I've been using Boxrec forum since 2003 so that makes me one of longest contributors still posting but my opinion is no more worthy then someone who posts for the first time.

Damien and his dad have done very good things for Manchester boxing over the years without every seeking the limelight or riches, they are/were the true heart and soul of boxing.

exactly arnie is a good decent bloke deep down we all know that. we talk boxing here and there and we may disagree but when it gets personal then its a different story. arnie has been posting for a long time and i think we should back him in this one.

i will leave it be after this post.

i think damian made big accusations against arnie there and if you are making those types of accusations you have to back it up which i asked. i think its clear that arnie is passionate about the game and is a decent guy deep down. this is a personal attack on him which wasnt backed up and i dont believe arnie did what he was accused of. its a personal matter so i suggest we leave the matter there but i just wanted to back arnie on this one

I can appreciate that it must gut trainers when their fighters elect to move on. Regardless of Gavin's reasons, judging by his disappointing performances of late it was apparent that he needed to make some changes to prevent his career from underachieving. The Tibbs' don't have a magic wand though and perhaps in 12-18 mths time some may not consider that Anthony Farnell didn't do such a bad job with an overhyped yet highly successful amateur.

As I've debated on here before (and many disagree), Gavin to me has fundamental hindrances which will prevent him from succeeding in the pros. I can't see even the best trainer in the world addressing this. But let's see.

I'm not dissing Anthony Farnell, but both Gavin and Tony Bellew have produced surprisingly poor performances. Fighters are often accused of being fickle after they lose but at least these two have made the switch before suffering a defeat.

I don't think he's big enough to compete at 140lbs at the top and, the biggest one, he lacks power. I've also found Gavin to be one-paced at times and lacking in imagination. The latter two seem in complete contrast to the fighter who dazzled as an amateur.

he lacks power i agree. if you are lacking power at british level, then you will really struggle at world level. pernell whitaker lacked power at world level but he would have KO'd a curtis woodhouse type of opponent.

i also agree that he lacks imagination when he is coming forward. he is a defensive fighter and does a lot of posing after he has made a fighter miss. i've seen limitations in his work while coming forward, especially against woodhouse

i think gavin would do well against certain styles and not so well against others. his lack of power is a huge issue because pressure fighters like bam bam rios, maidana, matthyse, bradley etc will push forward taking one to give one. but i think gavin will really struggle against the elite boxer types like robert guererro, marquez, khan etc. its hard to see him beating any of the above named fighters imo.

just to clarify i actually started the beef with frankie and arnie after the stefy bull fight, my intentions was to wind frankie up lure him into a fight and hopefully knock him out, when frankie and arnie came out insulting me it was music to my ears because i knew id pissed them off so most of it was my fault its all part of the game we are all friends now, and for those who say frankie cant punch (i was one of them) he hits pretty hard hes not gunna take you out with one shot but his shots are stinging and he hits you from angles that make it hard to get out of the way, 6 days after the fight i was still pissing blood so he must have hit me pretty hard to the body  also on the subject of frankie moving gym it doesnt always have to be a falling out or that arnies not good enough anymore sometimes shit happens, i left dave coldwells to try something new and daves one of the best in britain but different trainers can teach you different things, me and dave are still good friends and he still manages me i just made a selfish decision to try help my career, in any sport you must always look after number 1 because when frankie hangs up his gloves he will be quickly forgotten about and nobody on here will give a monkeys about him harsh but true, thats what happens in sport i wish frankie and arnie all the best im sure in time they will both show they are both very good at there jobs :TU:

Frankie needs to be patient when making his choice of trainer, this decision could at this stage turn out to be the biggest of his career.

IMO he needs somebody who's going to show him to be more offensive rather than seeking to counter constantly, you can make it to the top off the game without power, using 140 as an example you have both Kotelnik and Paulie Maliganggi who have done so already. But you cant do it by boxing solely off the back foot looking for counter oppurtunities, not when the opponent wont respect your power (or when you cut easier than butter for that matter)

He also needs to learn how to adjust during a fight, plenty of quality sparring with older, seasoned vets, or failing that line up 3 or 4 sparring partners with different styles and rotate them during training camps. During the Mutley fight he was just wishing the other lad would walk straight to him and when Mutley decided stick and move was his way to pick an easy night it took Frankie far to long to change his approach.

I think the Woodhouse fight was a one off, Curtis did a fantastic job on the night, and boxed better than many of us could have ever believed, he also suckered Gavin into thinking he had to prove his bollocks, and got him stood there looking to trade for 12 rounds to prove who had the bigger cojones.....to me not a problem, there was needle between the 2 and at least he got this type of fight out of the system before he got punished for it.

I think it might be wise for him to team up with Degale and co. again, i dont think JDG has an abundance of power, but his adopted style has allowed him to make the most of what he's got effectively. He clearly trains his nuts off and has a great desire to succeed. Can they bring the best out of each other? i think so.

I think Gavin's problems seem to be more to do with conditioning and attitude. More 'Ferocious' and less of the 'Funtime' perhaps? Is he the British version of Ricardo Williams?

Great end to the saga. Enjoyed it from day one, until the final bell.

Curtis may have been seen live more than any boxer on the planet due to his football career. Avg 30k people per week would take some beating. How about that for a stat!

i heard that farnell was upset after finding out brian hughes wasnt the real father christmas :DD bloomin blagger :DD

from what i saw on interviews & reports, hughes was very childish in his behaviour towards farnell & came across real bitter which goes to show how fond he must of been on f him.

shame they dont talk :shame: .
