Couldn't agree more with everyone. Farce. Not nice to see a boxer crying but the lad was robbed. Cox looks like he can walk through anything but he just hasn't got the boxing style to get anyway imo.

To be fair even allegedly was giving cox grief for the low blows. The decision I could understand without the low blows, but Jesus why did they let it go on?

I think Sai deserves a huge ammount of credit for not complaining more, he boxed like a man against a thug. Cox was a bit brash after, I doubt he'll be headlining allegedly :shame:

First Agbeko and now this. Ghanaian balls are like magnets for punches.

Doesn't Richard James Davies post on here? Maybe he can explain his rather odd scoring.

Hometown boy gets decision in in the UK!! Surprise surprise!!

The end of the day folks boxing is a business, everyone gets paid. The African was brought in to get beat up but didn't read the script, but do you really think that would change anything??

Normally these things don't happen because the matchmaking is correct but that is the problem with bringing unknown Africans in that once in a blue moon they can fight, whereas normally they can't even hold their hands up.

The only times things are closer to a level playing field is when the fighters are under the same promotional banner so whatever happens the promoter comes with the champion and leaves with the champion!!

Its amazing that the home fighter is getting such a backlash on this against an unknown guy from Africa. That shows how much of a bad outcome the fight was. Scoring the fight, I had Sai 2 rounds clear and with the deductions it just made it even wider.

Even without that, it shouldn't have even got to the cards. Sorry Cox, not many fans won last night. not only a week performance, but could have been disqualified about 4 times for low blows. Best thing you can do is get Sai back over here in December for a rematch he rightly deserves.

You would have thought that the Cox corner would have steered him away from the body shots in the late stages for fear of disqualification but that didnt seem to be the case. Cox was beaten by a stronger willed boxer and was resorting to bully boy tactics to try and gain an advantage. You only have to look at the goons surrounding him in the corner to see where the mentality comes from! The sight of his corner hoisting him in the air and screaming with delight at the "dubious" decision was shameful and a blight on the integrity of that training team. Absolute disgrace from Cox, his team, the judges, and the referee. The only bright note is that at least the crowd took it for what it was and booed Cox out of the ring.

i cant agree more with your post, and god help anyone who comes on these boards in the future claiming its hard to get a decision in germany etc. as a boxing fan i was disgusted. the poor african was 6-4 up in rounds in my book without the 2 point deduction. and how you can get a point deducted for a low blow and the next low blow all you get is a warning is completely beyond me. perhaps mark green was concerned that he would have to pay his own hotel bill if the homeboy had been DQW'd !

all in all it was a disgraceful night for fair british boxing!!

Yeah even the corporate crowd who don't follow boxing booed. Imagine if there had been real boxing fans there?

I really feel for Sai, the scoring was farcical. I had Cox 4 rounds down with a 2 point deduction ... so I had Cox 6 points down! The board need to take serious action against the ref and judges because we can no longer have a moral high ground over the likes of Germany when we have away fighters getting screwed so badly, Zack Page v Tom Dallas comes to mind as another example too.

It's crap like this that's slowly eroded my love of boxing. I actually yelled at my tv screen when that decision was announced. I hope Cox catches the bubonic plague.

Disgraceful! I just watched the repeat on Sky and I couldn't believed what happened. It was just as bad, if not worse than Mares - Agbeko. So many clear cut low blows that went unpunished and then the disgusting scoring to top it off. Once again, the board will probably "launch" an enquiry which will result in warnings to the officials before being brushed under the carpet again. Mark Green, Ian John Lewis, Richie Davis and Marcus McDonnell should all be ashamed of what happened last night.

Terrible decision and i wouldn't let that ref near a british ring ever again, clearly too scared to upset the boss, a rematch should be granted right away, so gutted for the Guy. It's getting worse than Germany here for away fighters

Best post on this thread - it is becoming clearer by the week that large areas of British boxing are blatantly crooked and if the BBBofC does not act immediately they will be tarred with the same brush, and rightly so. It would be interesting as well to have a poll on who are the most bent referees and promoters. Thankfully all the journeymen are straight though?

I have only watched the first 6 rounds, just about to watch the rest (came off nightshift so too tired to watch it all!).

From what I seen, you can see him starting to drift his punches south early in the round before he hits the money. The ref should have given a final warning with the point deduction in round 5. Cox should have been disqualified for sure in the 6th when he again sent Obidai's balls into orbit!

The most galling thing from what I saw, was it looked as if he didnt think he was doing anything wrong.

I assume I'm going to be even more disgusted once I finish watching the whole fight based what I've read!

cox wants ryan rhodes? he wouldnt stand a chance going on last night, cox would be made for ryan, way too wild, ryan would knock him out pretty early i would think. Cox needs to calm down everyshot was trying to take the other fellas head off didnt set anything up and he should have lost, he was very lucky to get that last night very lucky indeed
