DAVID HAYE NOT RETIRING - FIGHTING VITALI KLITSCHKO NEXT!

Post by exittored »

This is great news

http://www.BS.com/david-haye-r ... hko--43606

I think Haye can find redemption and has a much better chance against Vitali then he did against Wlad.

Thoughts?

What does he mean "I had no real chance" stating that the referee and fans were the reason ????

He doesn't deserve a title shot after his performance against Wlad. He strikes me as an oportunist and he shouldn't be given a shot at all. If he wants to redeem himself, then let him fight two or three guys in the top 10 and then maybe people will take him seriously again. He talks about extending his retirement date as if he is doing people a favour !!

Inevitable, given the lack of money making challengers out there for the two brothers, why not make a few more mill taking on Haye, who as they now know, talks a great fight but is fairly harmless when the bell rings. Ideal pension fight for all concerned.

He performed better against Wlad than anyone has against either Klitchko for years. I know alot of people, me included, were disapointed with Hayes level of intent in the fight. However, It wasn't as a bad performance as most make out.

That kick to the temple is a bit oversold. Nobody can survive one of those

I for one would like to see this.

I travelled out to Germany for the Wlad fight and would not go to that effort again but I'd still be fully behind Haye. I just hope if he does get the fight that he fights more aggressively this time and lays it all on the line.

I'm guessing this would be in Germany again so his only chance is a KO which seems unlikely given Vitali's chin.

exactly, it would drop a horse.

Haye thihks that Vitali can't punch well he can and he can't, tell that to Solis (whos legs did the Judah jiggle) & Hide though Briggs did pretty well I don't see Haye taking those shots.

More Importantly Vitali wont sit back like Vlad, he's a big mean motha who will go in for 'das kill'.

I have to disagree mate, he lost every round i think. The point is that everyone knew that if Haye was to get anything from the fight he had to attack Wladimir and take a few risks, but for the most part he was running scared. I think that he can redeem himself in the heavyweight division, but it would require him to re-establish himself by earning a shot, rather than thinking he has some devine right to face Vitali or Wlad in a re-match.

I think the title of the thread is misleading - Haye is saying he wants to fight Vitali, but the match hasn't been made yet. I suspect it will come off, but right here, right now it's wrong.

Of cause it's misleading especially as Adamek may pull off the upset later tonight.

Having said that if Vitali wins it's almost certain to be made next as Vitali has strongly indicated he wants the fight asap, Goldenboy are pushing for it to happen soon and now Haye wants it too so i guess it'll come down to if both parties can reach financial terms.

Yep, think you're right, though really can't see Adamek troubling Vitali too much given the size disparity. However he could give us a good bench-mark to evaluate how Vitali's looking given his age.

King Geedorah wrote:Good thing for Haye is that Vitali will be easier to negotiate with in all likelihood as he seems fairly secure in himself. Wlad's obviously confident but you get the sense that he holds onto rematch options as tightly as an Italian gripping his own balls.

Only problem is selling it. Many will get washed up in the hype again but a good few will be sceptical when Haye tells us it will be a brutal war etc. If Sky pick it up they should push Vitali more when selling it & go for a bit of the Rocky IV angle.
Good points and the fight is definately sellable even if it's because people are paying to see Haye get knocked out.

Wlad came to england and charmed everyone, Vitali's english and personality wouldn't allow him to do that plus he's taller, tougher, meaner looking and considered the better of the two brothers so there's enough there to hype the fight. I'm sure Haye will apologise for his performance against Wlad and promise to go out fighting this time...etc.

If Haye came in a lot heavier than he did for the Wlad fight, at least 16st but ideally heavier, and the fight was to take place in the UK/US, well basically not in Germany - I'd give Haye a pretty good chance against Vitali!

Oh great, boxing's Con Man is back again to make one last million at the boxing fan mugs expense. Let's hope he doesn't hurt his little toe this time.

David Haye's fights with Valuev, Harrison and Klitscho were the worst, most tamest events in heavyweight history. Absolutely disgraceful.

People please, do not buy into this. I am not paying a penny into Haye's lastest cash-quick scheme. He doesn't want to fight or win, he wants to run and get rich.

Why would coming in heavy help David? He needs to move and stay away, not engage. How many overweight heavies have we seen speared by the K brothers? Every single one of them.

David was unique in that he was light and could actually move - unfortunately he took no risks whatsoever and stunk the place out.

He's weight at just over 15st is too light to go in against a Klitschko. Vitali isn't as mobile as Wlad, but has a much better chin. Haye would not need to move as much, but with more conditioned weight behind him, I could see it working out as a much better plan to dethrone one of the brothers.

I'm glad he isn't retiring just yet.

He was crap against Wladimir, but I would still like to watch him against Vitali or Povetkin.

It depends how you look at it. If you are judging the performance based on the amount of success Haye had relative to other Klitschko opponents, then I would agree. Haye won more rounds, landed harder shots, and was more difficult to hit than most of Wlad's recent challengers, and looking at it from the ''he gave Wlad one of his toughest fights in years" perspective, Haye's performance doesn't warrant the censure it has received.

On the other hand, terms like 'bad' or 'good' are often used relative to expectations. John McDermott would be lauded if he went the distance with Wlad and won a round in the process, because no one would've predicted that he was capable of doing so. By contrast, Haye has been consigned to a realm of odium even though he went the distance with Wlad and won 1-3 rounds in the process. The main reason for this harsh reaction is clear; Haye was expected to do more. Unlike most of the recent Klit challengers, he was going to lay it all on the line, he was bringing speed and power, and he was arriving in shape. These factors led many people to believe that Haye was either going to defeat Klitschko, or at bare minimum be competitive. Of course when fight time came there was little congruence between the expectations of Haye and his actions; he didn't come out aggressively, his speed and power weren't significant factors, his conditioning was irrelevant because he was miserly with his punch output, and therefore he was not victorious or competitive.

Looking at the fight from the later approach, Haye massively failed to meet expectations, and therefore his performance---even though it was superior to the performances of many Klitschko opponents ---has to be considered every bit as bad as many people have portrayed it.

Wlad was in more danger in the Haye fight than any fight in the last 5 years, even though it was a landslide points victory, he knew, and admitted, he had been in a fight himself. Nothing better going on, lets have Haye v Big Bro. Haye knows he has to go out on his shield at least as he is a laughing stock right now after his trashtalk.

Well unlike Wladimir where alot of people were predicting Haye to win, against Vitali he'd be a massive underdog and there would be zero expectations of him winning so he's got nothing to lose.

Sounds like Vitali wants to fight Haye at wembley in his interview. I would like to see this but only after Haye has a warm up fight against a solid proven opponent.
