Richie Woodhall

Post by dalcumly »

Is anyone else becoming as impressed with Woodhall's technical knowledge on TV and his ability to accurately assess the skills of fighters featuring on SKY ?
For my money he's doing a first class job . Well done .

Yes, I think he's made for TV, nice easy going style but plenty of info for the hardcore fans too

Not only has a great knowledge, but he does his homework on all the fights too. He is not one of those pundits who just turns up and tries to blag it.

KG was merely trying to sit down on his punches whilst simultaneously keeping it long.

Fully agree, Richie is a great reader of the game and knows it inside out!! A genuine person too.. I'd love to see him and Ed Robinson as the permanent sky commentary team! To be fair though I think McGuigan & McCory speak a lot of sense, the only one I fail to agree with on a regular basis is Watt! For me he contradicts himself far too much.... IMHO :TU:

McCrory isn't bad but you always sense he's trying to read the judges and likely winner rather than summerising the action. Round 12 of McCloskey is a classic example.

While Watt told us all of VK strategy after he threw one punch.

Always get the sense Woodhall has done his homework, always get the sense McCrory hasn't so much.

And why does the start of the answer always begin "you know"

Er, no, that's why he's asking.

Always liked Woodhall, comes across very knowledgeable. Also he is not as biased as the others. And refreshing to listen too.
