Does anyone know where I can find the actual archived records for the boxers listed on this site?. My father box in the 1930's and he is listed on this site. He also boxed under another name and is also on this site as well. I would like to know how to connect these two records and confirm that these two are really the same man.
Thanks

Re: Boxing Record Archives
That happens from time to time....you may be able to correct it if you can supply some documentation (or credible info) to support your theory. I'll move this thread to the records forum, and you can take it from there.
Re: Boxing Record Archives
What two names need to be merged?
Re: Boxing Record Archives
Hi,
I discovered my father boxed under the name Allan Foston, Global ID 67534, Hometown Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Division, Featherweight. He aslo boxed under the name Allan Headley, Global ID 49671, Hometown Vancouver, B.C. Canada, Division Featherweight.
My father was born Allan Edward Headley, Edmonton, AB, Canada, June 29, 1913. His mother remarried in the 1920's to John Bernard Foston, and lived on Triumph Street, Burnaby, B.C. Canada. I only surmising that in order to box in New York State, he was required to use his Birth Certificate, we have no other explanation as to why used his biological name. He was known all over Vancouver as Alan, Allan, Allen, depending on the newspaper article and I have a scrapbook full of these articles.
Currently, I'm try to located archived records from Vancouver, B.C.
Just started so don't know how far I'll get.
Thank

That was indeed the case in New York for a while. I've combined the records and updated some of his biographical information.mgceru wrote: I only surmising that in order to box in New York State, he was required to use his Birth Certificate, we have no other explanation as to why used his biological name.
Re: Boxing Record Archives
Hi Again,
Thank you for such a speedy response, I'm really quite impressed. I have a couple questions if you have time. Does this site have access to the archived records and is it possible to get photo copies. Secondly, were you able to verify the information I gave you this morning through microfische or microfilm, just curious.......I'm doing a geneology record of my family and it would be really great to have some copies of his registrations. I have yet to determine if there are archived records available in Vancouver, B.C. as I don't know what club he fought under, I know his manager was Jack Allen but the scrap book of newspaper clippings do not mention the club. Would these records be with the Canadian Boxing Federation? I appreciate the time you've already given me and don't want to be a pest, one can only ask.....right....
Thanks
