Mundine vs Alvarez Postponed

Anthony Mundine today announced through his Twitter account that his fight with Rigoberto Alvarez has been postponed as Mundine has a cut over his eye. The fight was meant to occur September 21 at the Newcastle Entertainment Centre for the interim WBA World Light Middleweight title but due to the cut it has been postponed until October 19, with more details to be announced shortly.

Mundine said: “Too all my fans my fight has been postponed from 21st of September until October 19 due too cut over my eye..I’m very upset about this because I was primed to win. I am still tryiny to get my head round it!! But everything happens for reason…my cut would have been to fresh in 2 weeks so had no choice but to postpone.

he also needs time to recover from surgery to remove his leg. Which is the only way he can make 154lbs

i would suspect this has more to do with the weight. Why dosent anthony give up on this junior middleweight nonsense and fight at a weight he is more comfortable at?
