He was a bin man last I heard.

Dunno if he would have had the dedicationto make it to the top of the European scene even if the shoulder hadn't gone.

From speaking to an ex-gym mate of his, when they were away on training camps in the Canaries, Eames had to practically nail the bedroom windows shut to stop Lear sneaking out at night to go on the tear in the nearby bars..

harrygreb wrote:be fair, lear was head and shoulders - sorry to mention those - above the list you post and he would have given mitchell an education.

boxing news kept the faith in kevin by holding him as our top ranked super feather for as long as they could before the injury proved to be a career stopper.

Sorry, thats not right. I like Kevin Lear alot but he would have been well and truly in the group I mentioned. It's a good group. Mitchell Vs Lear would be a great London fight but Lear would not give Mitchell "An education".

sorry, but it is right. lear was the best of the superfeathers of that time - a good group true indeed. and an education is exactly what mr mitchell would have got. a bit like what youre getting now. (sorry, martin, i couldnt resist that little joke)

Was well impressed with win over Gomez. Could certainly have been in the mix at world class, well unfortunate not to get opportunity due to injury. :box:

He hardly looked like a world beater against Kirikov or was his injury kicking in!!!

I remember that night for Wayne v Maisa!

I was seriously just asking a question! :-) He looked sharp as a tack against Gomez, I was trying to find out iif that was Gomez being drunk or was Kevin a class act before the injuries!!!

Glad he is well!!

Also worth notin that the gomez who boxed lear wasnt the same fighter as the one who boxed arthur.

He had been partying, drinking, sniffing all year himself....
Brian hughes wanted him to retire after the fight cos his head hadnt been on boxing for a while...

Lear was class though and would have fitted well into the mix, but a dedicated gomez with the intensity he had in the arthutr fight would have made it a lot closer

This thread is hilarious. How many shoulders has he got?
Seriously though it is a shame, he's a decent fighter.

With a packet of fags in his pocket, and a few quid for a bet, Kevin is happy.
