Burns v Katsidis!!!
Re: Burns v Katsidis!!!
I think they are trying to time it perfectly and hoping to get to Katsides just as he starts to decline but I think they might be a bit too early. I just can't see Burns keeping Katsides off him for 12 rounds, although I'd love to be proved wrong - I like Burns and they way he went about his career in the early days (fighting stronger opposition than he did as a world champion)

Word of warning
remember all the fools that pissed there money away on Martinez and he punches much harder than MK imo
Re: Burns v Katsidis!!!
I had £300 on Katsidis with Boyles last night at 1.9
Re: Burns v Katsidis!!!
I'm not sure Burns hits hard enough to discourage Katsidis. Good luck to him though.

And I was one of them Billy, done my conkers right in on Martinez stopping Burns. I don't think he punches harder than Katsidis but one thing is for sure Katsidis wont be blowing out of his hole chucking wild punches after 3 rounds, the man is relentless.
You might just of got him at the right time as he has been in some absolute wars over the years but personally I think he brings far too much to the table for even a vastly improved Ricky Burns to cope with.
Please remember before you go off on some rant, that everybody is entitled to their own opinion.
P.S Get a lump on Katsidis with Boylesports, it will pay for Christmas. Thank me later.

Re: Burns v Katsidis!!!
I like Burns, he won me as a fan in the Rocky Martinez fight. I also like how his fans support him. It reminds me of the days when a puerto rican fighter didnt have to be a top 10 p4pounder to be a loved star. He reminds me of John John Molina one of my all time faves. I remember having a great time watching him defend his title with sell out crowds. His fights were not mega fights by todays standards but they were competitive and allways entertaining. Molina BTW came very close to derailing DLH's golden rise on bare heart and determination.
Katsidis on the other hand reminds me of an old school Gatti with that warrior spirit and power that can change the tide of a fight at any moment.
You could say this has a sort of a dream fight flavor to me. John John Molina vs Arturo Gatti at 135

Re: Burns v Katsidis!!!
Broner is probably better than Katsidis at this stage but it is a shrewd move. There's a chance Katsidis may be a bit worn, but he's a much bigger name than Broner - both in the US and the UK - so if Burns can pull it off it will aesthetically be much bigger than a Broner win, and on the flipside a loss won't be as damaging as one to the lesser known (even if more dangerous) Broner would be.kingfinn wrote:I think way more dangerous is a bit unfair when you take into consideration he's moving up to fight Katsidis's who is now a light welter so will be a very big powerfull Lightweight to be facing.Jon Saxon wrote:hmm maybe but then the Ausie has lost a few against good boxers.
I think Broner in the US was waaaaaay more dangerous.
Another smart move by Warren.

Burns has only shown this tough chin against domestic foes people. I don't rate Martinez as this monster puncher. Also, people thought Mitchell would be able to withstand the Aussie's bombs.
Kat should stop him, maybe take him 6 or 7 though as Burns does have some heart.

I've got a Katsidis stoppage win in this one, I think he will just walk Burns down as his lack of power will encourage Katsidis to attack him from early on.

Looking like they're stuggling to sell it.
Guess thats what happens when you don't have Burns or Smith fighting in their hometowns.
Can't understand why they have it in London, surely Smith vs Groves wouldve shifted loads of tickets @ Echo Arena. Smith has a ridiculously big fan base in Liverpool.
if this was in the echo it would of been a near sell out already especially if you have butler, selkirk, liam smith and rocky on the undercard

Hah ha - tell me about it, Liverpool is a nightmare for the Welsh! i'd take London or Birmingham over that treck! I even travelled up and back in one day to watch Smigga vs Dodson because i knew the atmosphere was gonna be electric and it didnt disappoint!!
that was a great night always a great atmosphere in the echo, loudest ive heard is smith v degale thought the roof was gonna come off

because of the duration of the round trip, the drivers of the coaches can only doing a certain number of hours for there shift so we had to be back on the coaches at 11.30pm (i think) which meant we missed that and also the Bellew vs McKenzie fight!! I literally saw the entrances and then had to leave, Gutted ain't the word! :(
nothing worse when you have to leave early, happend to me at the 1st mag 7 had to leave half way through the macklin fight

The Millenium Stadium in Wales sued somebody's old company two years ago for over 150k in unpaid bills after a certain big supermiddleweight fight was held there in 2007. I don't know if all the owners of Welsh venues get together for a piss up every now and then, but if they did I imagine this sort of thing would crop up in the conversation at some point![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
