Alex Arthur - The future aint looking to bright

All the best to Alex on Saturday night in his EBU challenge but sadly i cant see him making any big impact in the super-feather division, i mean its gotta be 1 of the best divisions around. Sadly i cant see him living with Morales, Pac-Man, Barrera, Jesus Chavez, Barrios etc, what do you think ???

totally agree; I even think a lot of people are seeing arthur beat sinitsin a little too easy on saturday, he's no mug and will push alex all the way.

To be honest i really fancy Alex to win on Saturday night but where he goes from there (if he wins) i dont know, at least he would be propelled in the rankings, especially the WBC - being the EBU champ, just think he could fight Barrera in a years time (providing both keep winning)

on the flip side another year passes and he may improve, MAB isnt geting any younger and i wouldnt be surprise if Harrion jumps up weights soon leading to a really big all Scots clash.

a year is a longtime in this sport and a lot can change, i can see openings for Arthur im just not sure he is good enough to take them.

Very pessimisstic way of looking at it. He's young, quite talented so has things to work on, has only one defeat and is favourite to lift the European title on Saturday.

There are some big names around in his division which makes for an exciting future in my opinion. Would you prefer he were in a division like the Cruiserweights?

I don't think there is any need to panic.

If he wins the EBU, that doesn't mean he has to jump straight at a world title shot.

I'd be happy to see him defending that for 12-18 months. IMO he's improved a lot since his loss to Gomez, and whilst he's probably below world-world level at the moment, I think he has the time and potential to bide his time and wait for an opening.

Also, I saw a couple of pics of him in training for this fight, and he looked very, very good - stronger than I've ever seen him. He was saying that he'd got his training timed right for this one - apparently he trained too long for the Doc fight and came in a bit tired. If that's true, I'd make him a distinct favourite to beat Sinitsin.

Arthur's looked quite handy since Gomez - that was a make or break moment for the young guy and I think it made him. He's not ever going to beat Diego Corrales but the lad has talent and now he seems to have a bit more application. He'll need it Saturday, mind...

Search - not like you to write an entirely negative post through the anonymity of a keyboard screen.

Alex is a nice bloke (years ago, at the York Hall with Goz I once recognised AAA's Mum but not him...long story), but I think even he knows that when he throws a right he is wide open to any decent counter-puncher. He will probably beat Boris and could win a belt but not much more. But lets face it, even that would be more than any of us have achieved....

Fecking hell. Any sadists, Anti-Arthur's anti-Scots, or anyone who enjoys the smell of money may be interested in this.

Planned to have a little punt on Arthur, as I think I have explained earlier, think he could win. 4/6, 5/6 something like that would suit nicely. What do I see? Stan James has Arthur at 1/6, and Sinitsin a 7/2. Maybe I've yet again missed something, but as much as I like Arthur to win, and expect him to, can you really neglect a price of 7/2 on a reigning champ if you think he could win?
