Let me get this straight, Haye trained all his life in the knowledge that when he made it to the top that he would fight for the money only.... don't be daft man.

I agree it's not as simple as that, but I do think Haye has lost a lot of his 'hunger' now - he's set on making it in movies etc and is incredibly comfortable thanks to his earnings. The main attraction of the Vitali fight will be the size of the payday, but of course he's a proud man so there'll be the issue of redemption.

What's wrong with that? He is faster, more agile, harder to hit, and arguably has more one punch KO power. Wlad did also hug & throw him down. The rest is just baiting Vitali to get the fight on.

David should read an interview George Groves did with a handsome, dashing and completely sane .com amateur in which Groves advised James DeGale to accept that he was a legitimate loser when the two met, identify his mistakes and come back a better fighter.

I had hoped against hope that Haye would return to form for the Wlad fight but it was not to be, his performances since Mormeck onwards had shown him progressively decline technique-wise. His best form since that one came in the win over Valuev, he at least waved the left about a bit, and really started to unravel during the win over Ruiz, he Orson Welles’d it in that fight.

This said, I would get very excited if Vitali-Haye was made.

Hayes punching power at heavyweight is still very good. He Ko'd Thomas Bronin in 1 round, stopped John Ruiz, Ko'd Michael Barrett (which David Tua couldn't do, twice), badly wobbled the man montain Valuev, and flattened Harrison, a big man himself, however cautious.Haye just couldn't close the distance to get to Wlad ror a sustained attack.

He probably has privately. I agree he came across like a tool and trhe fight and his performannce made him look silly.
