ryan tayler making hes debut on the prizefighter show

Post by johnnygreaves »

Just a heads up for you boys regarding Ryan breaking the mould & boxing as a warm up for the prizefighter. This boy really can hit, he's 100% dedicated & if I know anything about boxing he really can get to the top. Especially on the British scene. Now I've been hit by some real big punchers around light welter and even with 14 oz gloves & a headgear , this lad has had me out on my feet. Spiteful little git

Johnny it is the same Ryan Taylor who entered abas thru yorkshire last season isn't it? If so i agree he beat 2 well reguarded ams from round here looks like he can box and fight aswell, agree he has the potential for southern area/british title contention- the 2 kids he beat have also turned over.

looks like theres quite a few good amateur light welters turning pro at the moment, another one is gary corcoran from london who boxed ryan taylor twice last season, think he could defently be one to watch.

Good kid Ryan. Yeah he boxed for West Leeds ABC in the ABAs last season and beat Andy Townend in the Yorkshire final (Townend is now turning pro as well). He was knocked out in the ABA quarters by champion Danny Phillips, so only lost to the best.

He'll do well as his style was always suited to the pros.

Having boxed some of the best prospects in my 4 years as a pro, I'm well aware of what Ryan brings to the table . Having Sparred hundreds of rounds. I've always told him the pros suit he's style, he can box, punch & take a good shot. He is also ruthless & takes every opportunity to hurt you. Were good pals but even then he can be a spiteful sod. Exactly what you need to be in this game!

Ryan boxed over here in NYC in the New York City golden gloves. No one had heard of him before the tournament, but they defiantly knew his name after once he laid out a bit of a beating to one of our former GG champions lol good fighter

Yes, matter of opinion if really a 'draw' though but in this context you could also say that Bernard Hopkins couldn't even manage a draw in his debut, he lost to a novice who went on to gain a 5-4 record so don't think we can really judge on a fighters 1st fight.

I'll just say, Ryan is a bit hot headed & once he got caught & cut by a head, first cut of his life. He last his temper a bit & went looking to end it & brawl. I know he is a lot better than that. Maybe pressure played a part. He got a lot of press & maybe needs to settle. I know he can really fight & I'm sure he,ll prove it

Totally agree mate, he won 1st 3 for me even if rounds 2&3 were scrappy. Think the night got to him, hurt the kid bad in the 1st got caught with a few silly shots , then the red mist came over. Big night to have your 1st fight, deffo a lot more to come from this kid
