Had I been watching that fight with a non-boxing fan I would honestly have been embarrassed. It was like WWF wrestling.

The pair of them were so slow, fat and unfit, the fight was so crude. Then a terrible stoppage that we have become accustomed to as UK boxing viewers. I am sick to death of the UK scene, British referees, and the constant selling of fighters who aren't world class as 'champs' or 'contenders'.

Fury is a KO loss waiting to happen. What a blessed run he has had. Early ITV exposure despite being grossly overweight and boxing some of the worst looking opponents we've seen since early Audley. A gift over John McDermott after losing widely, opponents like Chisora and Firtha who hurt him but are too fat to close the show. "World Champion"? Maybe of beer drinking.

Price destroys Fury. Fury has no defence. Two fights running he's been badly rocked.

Price got stopped by Camarelle in the amateurs but the class divide between Camarelle and some guy like Firtha is so enormous as to make comparisons totally worthless. Price also punches far harder than Fury, Chisora and Firtha.

So your comparing an armature like Camarelle to a seasoned pro like Firtha who fought and went 12 rounds for a world title ??

The number of pro fights Camarelle has means little, and you're ignorant if you believe that professional fighters are inherently superior to amateur fighters; the descriptors used to partition the two ranks are suggestive of differences in rules, not class.

Cammarelle does virtually everything better than Firtha; he's faster, he punches harder, his defense is better, and he has much more boxing skill. If Cammarelle were to turn professional, he would be a massive favorite over Firtha, who has lost to several opponents who have not enjoyed success at any significant level as a pro or amateur.

Fury looked the best I've seen him, jabbing with real authority, good uppercut when he usedbut could do with a bit more accuracy and of course he needs to tackle his defence. Needs to get his full weight behind his right hand.

Regarding the stoppage, Firtha was tough man and showed a big heart but his money shot right hand was looking very tired the last couple he threw .He'd definitely shot his bolt and was ready to go. So I'm not too fussed.

No, its quite simple................I agree with what was written about Fury !!
I think he is more hype than anything else, looks out of condition, has no defence and limited technical ability. He has an improving jab and a decent repatoire of punches, but he doesn't throw his punches correctly, has no proper strategy for his fights and just gets into brawls that he wins through guts, his size and the fact that the opposition is very poor. The fact that this Firtha fella fought Povetkin and went the distance tells you an awful lot about the quality of the division outside of the Klitschko brothers. The quality doesn't step up until you reach the very top, so Fury has a chance of getting somewhere, but for me he is still raw, needs a complete overhaul of his camp and who trains him and could do with moving outside of his family ties, because i think he has gone as far as he can with his uncle Hughie training him.
