Smith v Selby RBR
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
It's a tough one to score but I'm just not seeing enough quality from Smith to win any of these rounds. Selby looks tired....but he seems to naturally have that appearance to a degree. 69-65 Selby.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Woah, did not expect that. Hope he's alright.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
No need to worry about the scoring. Great shot from Selby.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Looks like Smith is OK, good stuff.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
What a KO by Selby! Smith is out cold by the looks of it.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Whoa.
Hope the lad is ok.

He is up on his feet now, good stuff.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
The last thing I expected was a devestating KO win for the guy with 2 stoppages in 11 fights.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
yeah I had him 3 up before the knockout. Smith wasn't at the races today.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Awful tactics from Smith and his team.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
"Technical knock out"??
That's about as knocked out-edness as you get.

Re: Smith v Selby RBR
He's planting his feet infront of Selby, then throwing all his weight into his hooks. That's okay if you're going for the KO but not for 12 rounds.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
x2 ???? that's crazy that was a clean knockoutPecsaetan wrote:"Technical knock out"??

f uck sky sports for showing pauls reaction
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Hard to say what the plan was to be honest. He didnt move his head and wasn't working his way inside. Way too much mauling. Odd tactics.jBacca wrote:Awful tactics from Smith and his team.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
what a finish - i thought it was going the way of a smith close win at end due to jim watt covering his arse saying the rounds are difficult to score
Smith didnt look very fresh maybe those wars with simpson took bit out of him

Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Smith looked nothing like the boxer he could be tonight. Maybe he started to believe the hype about himself and all he had to do was turn up and blast Selby out. Whatever he just wasn't in the races tonight.

Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Selby was loading up with every shot. his technique and punching form was absolutely beautiful but the punches were telegraphed. he had never been beyond 6 rounds but came in throwing leather from the start not worrying about his stamina. Smith is too easy to hit and is simply a mauling fighter who throws quick shots on the inside then holds. Selby is just a better all round fighter than him and beat him in every department there.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR

That's Joe Gallagher all over, gets the lads fit but no technique, none of them move their head at allBaboon wrote:Hard to say what the plan was to be honest. Tough for Paul Smith now.......really hope some idiot doesn't decide it's a good idea to interview him before his fight now.
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
In fairness to Watt, it was a tough fight to score. I had Smith two up but it could easily be scored to Selby depending on what you consider scoreable in a fight. I just felt Selby wasn't throwing enough and was only landing one shot at a time where as Smith was throwing a lot and landing occasional non eyecatching punches. Wouldn't mind hearing what the official cards were.Gazmac81 wrote:what a finish - i thought it was going the way of a smith close win at end due to jim watt covering his arse saying the rounds are difficult to score

Smith forgot his jab
Re: Smith v Selby RBR
Fair dues to Lee Selby. It's easy to say Smith was flat and that Gallagher's a shocker etc, but full credit to Selby he didn't let Smith fight and then took him out.
Massive congratulations to the man.
