This came out of the blue! Great fight for Martin, he's got nothing to lose and he's as hungry as anyone. Can he win? Why not :)

Can't believe Macklin hasn't got a re-match. Martin Murray will need a Knock-out.

I think the fact that Macklin has signed with DiBella means he will be launching himself in the States in the next few months. Sturm won't travel to the USA for a rematch.

strange though isn't it you'd think that Macklin would just be pushing for a re-match and surely he would be made mandatory challenger on his last performance, so now he's gonna go to pastures new and settle for a defeat on his record.

I read somewhere that Macklin turned down the terms ofthe re-match as they were the same as the 1st fight and Macklin wanted better terms. Might have been all crap though.

Come on Murray, top fighter, hope this isn't too soon for the lad. I honestl think he has as much chance as Macklin did.

The only chance Macklin had was to knock Sturm out. Shame nobody told him that at the start.
I think Sturms too good for Murray anyway, so it won't come down to Sturms relatives scoring.

Time will tell, bg step up for Murray. I think if Murray and Macklin got in the ring together, Murray would win but again, just my opinion

Im with you,id back Murray over Macklin...But Murray needs a decent hard test before facing Sturm, how can you get a World title shot on the back of beating a novice in Blackwell?? i know Murray has got the WBA inter whatever title but come on...

Boxing has changed Tommy, not many fighters who get a shot these days deserve it and the ones who aren't ready usually get found out. Lets hope Murray is one of the few that is ready and can cause an upset

There are so many world titles that a 'World Title' is not a World Title anymore.

Spot on. I was looking at his record and it's nothing compared to Sturm's. Man against boy, I'm afraid... :shame:

Murray has the devil in him and is a fighter through and through.

Sturm is experienced and polished, but Murray has a good chance despite his rawness.

Only drawback (and it's a big one) is there is fat chance he'll win a decision.

Murray is a very committed and skillful fighter. I will be right behind him for this fight. Macklin exposed a lot about Sturm and showed how Murray could have success.

Come on Martin, bring the title back.

Tony Bellews got a world title shot so why not Martin, sturms probably lookin for a fight to look good in as he was not at his best last time out isnt that the whole point of a volunatry defence, who cares lets jus get behind martin and support one of our own, he's british and a top lad, n trains like a machine, hes not some bum with a losing record who doesnt respect the sport.
