Losing the battle Vs battle lost

Post by Grant »

I was just cruising the net, as you do, trying to determine how Phillip Hughes seems destined to be a long term Australian test batsman. It's not technique, he hasn't got any. It's not ability, he is an average shield player. I thought "there must be a reason" anyway before anyone rips into me for being off subject. I went to his page in the Australian cricket website. And under sportsman he would most like to be for the day he lists the great man, yup Anthony Mundine!!!
So I figure the battles lost, average Joe, who are the people who write history after all, have spoken. Get on board everyone. F()ck Katsidis, Geale, darchy, Mundine is the man afterall, the lunatics are officially in charge of the asylum.

I think Hughes' two centuries and two fifties in 12 tests with a top score of 160 has more to do with his present position than his choice of heroes.

True. But one 50 plus out of his last 19 innings means he is spin something right. Still we all have opinions I guess. Which state is he from again?

He shouldnt be in the side, It seems whenever there is a position vacant it is filled by a NSW player.

There are plenty of young batsmen around the country who would be a better choice in my opinion.

Anyway I was a bit tongue in cheek I just wanted to highlight what high regard Anthony Mundine is held in by the general public.

And yes Hughes is a tad lucky IMO...

If I sound grumpy its because both my league and AFL teams are out after the weekend.

This is Grants mum, he can't reply because he is having surgery to have his foot removed from his mouth.
