Tony Bellew, Tom Stalker, David Price and Jane Couch
All on this week's Liverpool Fight Night Podcast, free to download on iTunes.
Bellew on Cleverly world title shot: "Everyone thinks you're loaded, but there's not a lot of money in boxing, now I'm at world level I just want to secure my family's future, give them what other families take for granted, a nice garden and a lovely school."
Price on Fury: "The fight wasn't offered to me. I consider myself superior to him, I'm not going to take a fight with him on 3/4 weeks notice. The fight will happen, but on level terms because I bring as much to the table as he does."
Stalker on GB captaincy: "It's a great honour, I'm blessed to even get the opportunity to fight at these world championships. I've learned so much about the sport and I'm such a better boxer for it. I'm not just going to qualify, I'm going to medal."

Met Bellew and Stalker both nice guys.Bellew esepcialy comes across asa nice guy. If you hadnt read his mad stuff on boxrec and seen his press conferances you wouldnt beleive its the same guy i think its his game face and how he gets into fight mode .defo a diffrent character in person.

A lot of the Liverpool boxers recently have been overly disrespectful of their opponents/future opponents, as well as being cocky about their own abilities without doing a great deal to back it up.princess wrote:I dont How well do you know these lads Have you spoke to them for more that 5 mins How can anyone judge if they like someone from whats on the net or a interview with them Makes me effing sick how someone can judge someone else on a interview without knowing them personally But hey lets just slag them off hey ho
It is just my take on what a significant amount of Liverpool boxers have been acting like recently. I don't think they are coming across well, whether they are great people normally or not.

I think the majority of time they come across really well in interviews&theres no jealousy towards each others success&they support one another 100%

You find that most boxers are really approceable I have spoken to Tom a few time and he seems like a smashing lad same with Tony, Never spoke to Price but I have no doubt he would be a nice bloke also.
Re: Tony Bellew, Tom Stalker, David Price and Jane Couch
How can Price say he brings as much to the table as Fury? Fury has 2 belts, Price has nothing. Unless he is talking in terms of talent?

Who's Peter McDowall? Sounds a like a pro on the mic. Much, much better than the guy who does the ESPN podcasts, who is single handily the most annoying 'pundit' I've heard.

Re: Tony Bellew, Tom Stalker, David Price and Jane Couch
I'm a manc and find them like anyone else, individuals!
Bellew has looked a bit of an idiot at times while promoting the Cleverly fight, but when off camera or in a different subject seems totally sound, so it's obviously just a promotion thing which I can live with.
Price has always come across as really knowledgeable and a gent, like was said confident but not arrogant or disrespectful. As for him bringing as much to the table as Fury, I think he means in terms of winning potential. He's right not to sell himself short having no preparation, he beats Fury well IMO.
