Delighted for Martin murray who is a lovely lad by all accounts and a very good fighter.

Appalled that he gets a shot at the WBA title off the back of nothing particularly of note. Taking on a good champion in Sturm in only your 5th scheduled 12 rounder, and in the champion's hometown is a massive ask.

Not surprised at the WBA giving him the shot however. The WBC and WBA seem to becoming more of a joke as the months go by.

Obviously this is a massive ask and would be a big shock - but Murray has a big chance here, IMO.

Being a world champ these days in real terms probably just gives you a top 10 or top 5 ranking.

Not Murray's fault but what has he done to get this shot (and yes I know, when does that ever come into it?)!!!

sturm is opting for the low level european challenges now as he knows the curtain is coming down & time is limited.i think sturm has had alot of stuffing knocked out of him & murrays threshness should balance out pretty even.

murray has a 50/50 chance i believe & i cant believe how cute macklin has made himself :shame:

He should win this imo - it seems so long ago (I guess it is) that he fought De La Hoya - I remember at the time, he's gonna be good and he had a lot of balls going in with someone like that when he's relatively unknown. He never went on from there in terms of quality opposition. It looks like his best fight was a loss, although he did win the fight really. Anyway I expect him to win this one.

Murray has yet to be tested & hasnt shown shown everything he has in the locker so how he can be dismissed is beyond me.
