Hobsons team suggested a number of replacements (Oboh, Norton, Keeton and more), but Sky wouldn't accept any, so the bill is off

They're showing Tokuyma winning his title back off Kawashima tonight instead.

Not quite the fight we were building up to.

certainly gives us a indication of what Sky are doing now.....

They really dont wanna take any half decent fights, only the best ones...

I would have quite liked to see Oboh v Hobson

Hadn't Herbie Hide thrown his hat in the ring?

That would've been interesting if nothing else. Not sure what Hide has left now but I bet he can still crack...

would of thought sky would have jumped at the idea of peter oboh facing mark hobson. ok obohs a division smaller but is a big puncher who would have had more than a chance in my eyes. just last week dean powell offered to stick oboh in with matt skelton so they obviously fancy his chances against the bigger men.

You lot are as fornicating stupid as doghouse....Oboh has sparred Hobson over 10 rds several times and never won a round ever, never, not close....he wouldve been stopped latish.....Haye bottled it and sky fucked Hobson....now Haye is trying to get out of the fight,again...Oboh wouldve beat Hobson...what a moron....

Chris, I don't believe Oboh would have been much of a threat but if and when Hobson scores a big win then the rest of us might start to share your obvious enthusiasm.

Well said Kilburn, most of us (myself included) can only judge Hobson on his displays when boxing and not sparring. IMO he hasn't scored a WIN against an opponent of Oboh's calibre in the past so I can see why people might tip him. Although your extra insight into the sparring of these two might make people like bigped change their opinion on a possible meeting

Personally, I think Oboh's record at cruiserweight is a bit patchy and I could well imagine what you are saying about the sparring is correct, but lets just hope it happens in the prize ring for him soon.

Chris, i know you have issues with a lot of people over at doghouse, but you may have noticed you dont need to be an aggressive keyboard warrior to get people to listen on boxrec.....

perhaps your post should have been something like this:

In my opinion Hobson V Oboh would have been rather one sided.....Oboh has sparred Hobson over 10 rds several times and never won a round ever, never, not close....he wouldve been stopped latish.....Haye bottled it and sky fucked Hobson....now Haye is trying to get out of the fight,again...Oboh wouldve beat Hobson..... wouldnt happen

simple!!!! that way people respect your knowledgeable insight but dont think " what a tosser"......

Hobson has beaten several people as good if not better than Oboh...Oboh is good at light-heavy,but only cos the division is weak and the fighters their would be made for him....however in every department Hobson is better than Oboh.....by a long way,he`s the nicest kid we have ever had for sparring, but boxing ability other than an awkward effective style offers nothing for good fighters, and his power is nothing against Hobson...

It`s what a reader takes to a book that makes the book good or bad....and likewise,if I say someone is a moron he may not be and vice-versa....if I say your all great guys, well you just maybe the biggest bunch of turds out there....now get up,go to the bathroom mirror look directly into your own eyes and repeat"I am important,my life does have value"...give me 50,and say it like you mean it...

I`ll tell u this though....if Hardhitters is Hardhitters, then this forum is likely to get messy....cos if he`s the editor this forum is in dire straights....

Just a question but who is better than Oboh. I agree, his record at Cruiser is patch and I'm not insunating that you are wrong just asking your opinion.

I would possibly agree if you said Rob Norton - a very decent fighter, although inactive at the time of his contest with Mark (not Mark's fault). I'm not sure of Norton's status but Hobson vs Norton II is a fight I wouldn't mind seeing again.

The rest of his victories though..... a 35 year old fat Bruce Scott? Lee Swaby? I do believe that Oboh would beat them, although you have direct experience of the lot of them.

As for Hardhitters, I have read some of the posts in which you have had words... I geniunally believe there is some kind of misunderstanding there as he is an old hand at these forums and all are greatful when he contributes. For your information, Hardhitters role on the site has nothing to do with the forum site of things - he is involved with the records aspect of the site. He is welcome on this forum though anytime.

Norton is better yes...dont forget we was out a long time before that fight too,as we were supposed to fight Scott and he pulled out three times and the board mabdated Hobson/Norton....regardless of what the record books say Hobson pissed Arslan,he is better than Oboh....Swaby is a good fight for Oboh....but dont forget Hobson beat Swaby at 40% the first fight, the second ,he barely landed anything......Scott has been a good operator for ages...and too big a puncher for Oboh...I was in Ireland when he fought Corbett....what a fight....the Bruce Scott of now is 16 stone walking round...14 4 suited him and he fervently believed he would ko Hobson....on that form he would have ko`d Macca and I`ll be honest out of Scott,Norton,Arslan or Haye...I would take Scott last and I bet if you ask Hobson he would say the same thing....so maybe you guys read it wrong...Hobson is no ordinary fighter....he aint exeptional in any dept...but he`s solid as fornicate all round....dont forget he beat all these and Moran without barely losing a round....

Sparring is sometimes sparring and sometimes its more...there is no fight between Hobson and Oboh.....the first would be the same as the last....
