Look at my past posts, I am not a Khan fan. But the more I see of him, more I am respecting him.

Khan for me is a massively dangerous fight for Floyd and I think Mayweather MUST know that.

I'll second all of that.

Judah was able to hit Mayweather several times per round during the first half of their fight and was posing Mayweather a real problem to solve before he started to wilt. Khan is faster than Judah, punches in volumes, has a huge punch output, he can fight at an intense pace for 12 rounds and is also unlikely to break like Judah did. On top of all of that, he's young and in his prime! Additionally, he'd have Freddie Roach masterminding his battle plan, thats another obvious tick in his box IMO!

He's a massive threat and i'm sure Mayweather recognises that. I see the pretty boy putting Khan on his ever growing 'one to avoid' list! I dont expect this fight to happen, but then, Mayweather has to fight someone, and there are few credible options out there for him. I reckon he'll take time out, a year maybe, pretending the Pacquiao fight could be next, by that time he should be able to find another Ortiz type that can net him another 70 million US.

I actually think Judah has a better attack thank Khan in terms of shot selection.

Khan has zero chance against Mayweather until he improves his footwork and his defence, far to open not to get countered to fook by a man with Floyds talent.

Floyd fought Judah 5 years ago. Since that day Floyd is better and Judah is worse.

I hate Floyd Mayweather with a passion. The guy just isn't my cup of tea at all, but in terms of in-ring ability, he is the best around at the moment. Who else is on this "ever growing 'one to avoid' list" as you call it?

If you are going to say Pacquiao then you can make equal claim that Manny is avoiding Floyd as vice-versa.

Mayweather is better than he was 5 years ago, based on what exactly, do you think he's pot-shoting the right hand with more accuracy now or what? You must be mad, at best you could argue he's not deteriorated, but how you could possibly come to the conclusion he's better baffles me???

Mayweather could have fought Frietas, Tyszu, Margarito, Cotto, Williams, a younger Mosley, Pacquiao, Martinez. Thats a whole bunch of elite names, you'd have to be a real dumbass not to think he's avoided at least a couple of them.

I think Pacquiao should swallow his pride and take the tests, but perhaps he's not for a reason, who knows? I also think Mayweather should fight him even if he's not willing to take the tests. Mayweather never mentioned illegal drugs until Pacquiao flew into his radar, now all of a sudden he wont fight anyone unless they take tests.

Look, when Mayweather and Pacquiao were 16 years of age they were both fighting at 106lbs. Mayweather moved up the weights faster, but then he is slightly taller, Manny's around 5'6 to Mayweather's 5'8. Also, i'm inclined to think Mayweather had a much better diet throughout his life, Manny's struggles have been well documented and during the early part of his career he was still in extreme poverty and struggling to find enough money to buy food. Pacquiao's walkaround weight is correct for a man of his age and height, so the speculation that he's juicing is unfair IMO. It has all come from the fact that in the space of two years he went from featherweight to lightweight to light-welter to welter, dominating elite fighters all the way.

Mayweather should just fight him and stop being a pussy. Manny should also just swallow his pride, take the tests and get it on. Nobody is ever going to be 100% correct IMO!

If he can get through a fight just pot-shotting the right hand and looking that much in control then thats hardly a step backwards is it? My opinion is that over the past few years he's faced better fighters than he did circa 2006 and has not been challenged with the exception of De La Hoya.

Baldomir, De La Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley and Ortiz is a better line-up than Castillo, Mitchell, Gatti, Bruseles, Corley and N'Dou. While he was stopping the latter fighters on the list, the ease at which he has handled the likes of Marquez and Hatton and Mosley leads me to believe he is in his prime right now.

Ok, ignoring the fact that Mayweather has always been a WBC fighter and always preferred going that route to titles:

Freitas - When he was at his peak in '02-'03 Mayweather was the weight class above him. When they were both in the 130lb division Floyd had already mashed the divisions #2 in Diego Corrales so where is the challenge in Freitas?

Tsyzu - Mayweather wasn't at 140lb while Tsyzu was in his busy fighting period. He had almost 2 years off from the beginning of 03 up until he fought Mitchell in November '04 and by the time Floyd had a 140lb title and the fight made sense, Hatton had sent Tsyzu into retirement.

Margarito - wasn't a really big name until he beat Miguel Cotto in '08. Then he got battered by Mosley in his very next fight. Mosley's next fight was Mayweather.

A younger Mosley - When Floyd was near Mosley's weight he was coming off of two straight loses to Winky Wright and then campaigning at 154lbs until he beat Collazo for the Interim WBC 147lb title in '07. The fight didn't happen then because Mayweather had already agredd to De La Hoya at 154 and no one blames him for taking that fight over Mosley. Shane lost his next fight to Cotto and then see Margarito for how that situation plays out.

Pacquiao - The whole boxing world is scratching their heads as to why this hasn't happened yet. However, by saying he is on Floyd's avoid list, you are placing all the blame for the fight not happening at Mayweathers door. We both know thats not the case.

Martinez - The fight hasn't been mentioned that much yet but I would be interested to hear his reaction to a possible match-up if asked. I would hardly count him as being on Floyd's avoid list just yet.

Despite these points, you feel Mayweather never fighting the above people when you thought he should have is all his doing? None of them were avoiding him? There weren't any other factors in the fights not getting made? I may be mad, baffling and a real dumbass but I'm not naive.

Mayweather should stop being a pussy and just fight a guy he suspects of using performance enhancing drugs? So fight a guy on an uneven playing field?

Or Pacquiao should just give in to the demands of one man and have random drug testing when he has never failed a test in his life, is scared of needles and says that giving blood can make his feel a bit tired and sluggish for a few days after. Something he doesn't want to happen if he is randomly tested a few days before the fight.

You surely have to side with one or the other. You've basically just said both of them should cave and give in to the others demands??? I thought the baffling was being left to me??

It took Manny 4 years to go from featherweight to lightweight. 2 years from lightweight to welterweight (I know he fought Margarito for the light-middle belt but it was a 150lb catch weight and Manny has never weighed more than 145).

There are a host of other PEDs beside anabolic steroids or pro-hormones that Floyd may want him tested for.

I think this fight gets made. A Pacquiao connection without the stumbling block of Arum in negotiations, Khan definitely having the right balance of flaws to work with, and it's a decent money fight (on both sides of the pond).

The Pacquiao fight's not going to happen, so assuming 147 is Mayweather's roof, it's the best match in terms of risk/reward that he could make, ergo, right up the ol' Pinoy-fearin', sucker puncher's street. :TU:

An old De La Hoya was hammering Floyd there until the later rounds, remember? Now think of an old Oscar and compare that attack with a young Amir Khan.....

I think Khan now has the speed, timing and sheer workrate to really put the spanner in the works for Floyd.

Are you a Pacquiao fan? If so your judgement is possibly clouded. The problem I see, is that Khan will look for more than 2million because Amir thinks he is a massive draw. Mayweather will pay him 2million take it or leave it!

Mayweather makes him look silly anyway.

No not a fan of him. I thought he had the beating of Mayweather a few years back. But after the Mosley fight I'm starting to change my mind. He didn't have the fire he used to have. It could have been a bad night, I don't know.

I think at this stage Mayweather wins.

I think you must be deluded though to think Khan is not becoming a big fish.

Also yes, timing, Khan is younger and quicker than Mayweather. Floyd fights in bursts and hides behind that shoulder on the ropes.

Khan is not using head body attack and has a massive workrate. I think he has the beating of Mayweather. Thats not to say I think Khan is pound for pound the best, I just think he beats Mayweather.

The Manny fight should of been made years ago, Floyd should push for the fight harder than he has.

That’s a fair point I think timing is crucial and Manny’s time was after Cotto. I still don’t think he would have won, although that was the best time for him to try IMO.

I have followed Khan since the Olympics and yes he is becoming a big fish. The point I was making is Mayweather will only pay him 2million, and then Khan’s ego may be an issue.

Mayweather beats Khan easily. I genuinely think Khan is vastly overrated on these boards. He stuggled massively against Maidana and was very close to being stopped. As hard as Maidana hits, he is basically a fairly limited slugger who was catching Khan cleanly on multiple occasions throughout the fight.

Mayweather is arguably the most accurate puncher in boxing today, lightening fast, has unbelievable skill levels and defence and has never shown any vulnerabilities as regards his chin. I just don't see how Khan can win the fight. He may have some early success but he'll be worked out within a few rounds like all the others are and then get stopped late.

Khan improves vastly between fights, people were saying Judah would have khans number and he got absolutely taken apart. khan would be an underdog but i cant see floyd having an easy time with him, even if PBF ko'd khan in the mid to late rounds the rounds up until then will be tough. People talk about khan not having PBF's boxing brain let me ask this - does Roach have a boxing brain?

I'm no Floyd fan at all, but I really don't see how Amir Khan is capable of beating him.

He's a better fighter than Ortiz, but that's not saying much. I'd expect to see Amir eating right hands from the off and stopped on his feet in the middle rounds.

For me Khan's speed and workrate will get a lot of people very excited in the early rounds with lots of "oohs" and "aahhs" but soon people will start asking why isn't he doing more? Why isn't he throwing more punches? Where have the combos gone?

And the truth will be that after a couple of early spells of success, he finds that when he steps into range to throw a bunch of punches, he finds himself countered by hard, accurate shots. This then causes him to throw more from range, thus causing more shots to hit nothing but air. After 5 rounds the fight depends on what sort of mood Floyd is in and whether he sees a stoppage as a possibility.

A spot on analysis. Khan is much improved, but Mayweather, love him or hate him, is a special, special talent. The onyl thing that makes it interesting is his age, when he could suddenly slow right down, but if he is on form there is very little the opponent can do about it.

He can improve as much as he likes but he isn't beating Mayweather. Judah is well past his prime and that fight was never going to be competitive. Mayweather is an all time great who is still in his prime and that will be the difference.
