As classy as ever I see....
What f*cked PPV wasn't any one single incident, it was the cumulative effect of unworthy bills being staged over a period of time - it was your paymaster who was responsbile for the vast majority of them but you conveniently choose to overlook that fact.
After all, this is the man who gave us incredible world title fights such as Enzo vs Bobby Gunn...
indeed, good man deserter, it takes the cake that Eddie Hearn would get (rightfully) abuse over Haye-Harrison, without the likes of Calzaghe-Manfredo etc being mentioned as well. :TU:

Made me chuckle yesterday when one of allegedly first retweets was slagging eddie Hearn and his stable- these guys really are a Pr disaster! They should be banned from the Internet or something.

Andy ailing seemed pleasant enough at the charity football match and I've always got on with Dean Powell but it seems social media and fwp don't exactly work....

Makes me laugh that they are plugging the bunce show and the fact that us guys will have our say and they'll listen to our input! I'd be scared of ringing in in case the bailiffs turned up trying to take my tv and kids clothes :DD

Funny how Audley vs Haye is being lauded as the biggest PPV disasters - yet in terms of buy rate it did well, and then a rival promoter tried to copy the same routine by hyping up a heated rivalary between two ex friends as a PPV, which was only for a British title fight.

There wasn't that big a deal into people demanding their money back after Tyson bit a chunk of Holyfield's ear off.... now that PPV didn't exactly represent value for money.

I would saying having a 3 times altered in the space of a week world title main event was as big a disaster and certainly put some nails into the PPV coffin.

Yes I dont think the Cleverly/ Degal v Groves bill did PPV any favours the show was a joke.

Disagree. It was Haye v Audley that screwed up PPV and it was Eddie Hearn who pushed for that, right from meeting him at a poker table in Las Vegas, to setting up an easy European title fight against Sosnowski or Sprott to then pushing for Haye.

I can completely accept it may have been a catalyst, but context is important. I find it utterly implausible that an organisation like Sky would base their business decision-making around one single incident, especially if it was an anomaly.

Seriously guys if you dont wanna be held to further ransom dont do it.

Or, alternatively, if you like boxing enough to contribute to a forum on boxrec, cancel ESPN and Sky Sports and just buy the boxing and save a small fortune.

I think it comes down to if you are a boxing fan, or a football fan who likes boxing.

If allegedly gives you the boxing coverage that Setanta used to, why the whinging?

Because allegedly wont be the only channel covering boxing so you cant just cancel sky sports you have to have all the channels to follow the sport.

They did the same thing before when sky tried the premier league season ticket and it failed badly. If you cant follow the sport in it entirity you may as well not follow it. and why the hell should i pay another premium to follow a sport.

This is what people will do - they will cancel sky sports and not bother with boxing all together.

explain how this is going to be the best fights if Hearn, Henessy, hatton promos and haymaker arent involved? They would also need to have long term deals with top rank and GBP.

Matchroom have the best fighters in the UK at the moment.

burns cleverly bellew degale groves gavin cox hefron are just a few to mention, all entertaining and like i said if its a success people from other promotions will join him, i only got setanta for boxing so its no diffrence, i will give back my espn as i watch one football match per month ! i understand some boxing fans wont pay it but it doesnt bother me, im not rich but you have to remember its 2011 and nearly 2012, times are changing, apps cost money, advertising companies pay less because of sky plus and the amount of channels in the uk, and always remind yourself ppv in the states is around $70 these days, what im trying to say is its not that expensive, if you dont like it dont get it, but be prepaired to miss out !

exactly my point Burns and Cleverly who arent ppv fighters other than that its a load of prospects who technically should be fighting on free to air formats. If allegedly can name me a fighter that most boxing fans would be livid to miss fight then it makes it interesting.

|Ill wait to see what frank says in his presser but if theres no big names the channel just wont work with a subscription fee above 5 or 6 quid.

Difference is i get the football and boxing on sky sports along with them - also £15 for the warren ppv events doesnt work out to £120 a year. as i said before its not like allegedly is going to be the sole outlet for boxing its joust going to be another channel i have to pay for to follow the sport in its entirity.
