John Murray has always fought the same way and always been a bit of a goalkeeper, unless the fighter is a bit special he will always revert back to what he knows best when under serious pressure(Gatti aside!!). Ive known Mick Marsden and followed his progress for some years and hes quality but he aint guna give him Jamie Mcdonnells head movement at this stage of his career.

I mentioned this after the Mitchell fight and it was dismissed as sour grapes from Mancs. He was definitely boozing and I am told that the pair of them came to blows over it when in Germany for the Macklin / Sturm fight.
I heard it happened more than once.... it was a Manc that told me :OhYes:

That said I still expected him to beat Mitchell, who was an unknown quantity really going into that fight, with talk being cheap and all.

Will we now see the bankrupcy of Sports Network Europe Ltd and a new company called allegedly Promotions Ltd being set up!

I wonder if the same stroke was pulled again whether tha BBBoC would again sit idly by and let things carry on as if nothing happened!

Gallagher seems angry and a bit gutted about it all.

Says Murray was out on the piss three weeks before the Mitchell fight.

hats off to Britishboxers, and Joe Gallagher - really good video.

It's nice to see people give their frank and honest take on a situation like that.

2 weeks prior to Mitchell getting walloped on the ale is never going to produce your best form is it?

Shake your head John, because that's a very poor approach to your career.

There is nothing wrong with Marsden, but is he going to be able to re invent Murray? Is he any better than Gallagher?
Fair enough that sometimes you just need a change and something different. Remember though Murray didn't suddenly becoming a bad fighter after one bad training camp. Was Tibbs suddenly a bad trainer after Katsidis?
Fighters have to look to themselves as well sometimes, and sometimes they have just found their level, not everyone is world class.
Murray showed class by what he said in the article but it is poor form if he only let Gallagher know by text and if he hasn't paid him. If true he needs to put that right.
Also is Stephen Smith suddenly a bad fighter? Or a world class fighter with a bad trainer. Maybe he is just domestic title class. And is that such a bad thing? Most would kill to be that good.

Brilliant Post and I couldnt agree more!! Especially the highlited bit!!

Sad to see this video, 14 years is a long time man... As for people saying about people being paid, Well DeGale and Murray were both at the launch today of allegedly and both looked happy.. It doesn't look to me as though they ain't been Paid?? Im guessing if you weren't paid the last thing you'd be doing is press work for the guy who owes you money..

I hope Joe & John work it out, 14 years is a lifetime man and it's sad if they fall out for good!!

They will work it out at some point. Shame it has got to bitterness now though as always worked well together. A change of direction and venue can sometimes be a good thing, but the way you go about it means a lot and for Murray to not even discuss this in person is pretty bad.

Lets hope he gets back on track as he was so impressive to watch in in the build up to Mitchell.

Joe Gallagher seems to me like he has been ripped off in more ways than one.

After all his hard work and stress he has nothing to show for his time with Murray apart from sadness.

Murray does not come out of this well.

It is on Gilfiod's word though, and given that he is about as insightful as a turnip and would be more up to speed with the British scene if he moved to the Artic I wouldn't give anything he comes up with much thought.

He's a plank and I'd fork out £15 to Primetime if they could get him in the ring with either Murray or Rios. Should work out at around £1 per second of action and the last tenner would go on improving my counting............ :bag:

If he wrote it it is 99% going to be false. Just the usual sensationalist crap probably to try and get a few more precious hits on their joke website.
