Sykes v.s Buckland
Sykes v.s Buckland
Who'd you think wins this one?
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Would love to see Sykes win but cant see it. Buckland stoppage i think.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
different fight, at 130 limit over 12 rds.
should be good.
should be good.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
I think if by chance it goes the distance Sykes wins on points. He is one of the fittest boxers around.Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:Mid rounds stoppage for Buckland IMO.... If it goes to points I cannot see a Sykes victory because Bucklands workrate will be too much throughout the 12 rounds.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
I have a feeling that Sykes will stop Buckland. I just think over the distance, weight and given the way the 1st fight went, he will really be up for it. I think he will wear Buckland down with his speed and fitness proving decisive. I like both lads and hope its a good fight.

I'll go wi that. I'm suprised that most people are going with Sykes points on the poll. Both guys have great engines i feel Buckland will grind him down though.Cardiff-Lad1 wrote:Mid rounds stoppage for Buckland IMO.... close fight, and should be a good one. I don't think i'd heavily favour either of them. good matchup.ShadrachSimmo wrote:I'll go wi that. Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Sykes will have too much, and he is too smart. He got caught in the heat of the moment by a cracking shot in prizefighter, doubt that will happen tonight.
Can see it being a repeat of the Johanneson fight, or a late stoppage for Sykes.

Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Buckland looks a proper tuff git, he's going to come in full of confidence , sykes is gonna really be on he's game. Don't matter what he says but he will be v nervous . Should be blinding
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
I find it hard that some people think that Sykes will stop Buckland after all Gary is a non puncher & it took John Murray 11 rounds to stop Buckland & that was a weight higher.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Sykes points but not very confident predicting it.
The only result I cannot see is Sykes stopping Buckland.
I do think that Sykes may have been over-confident in prizefighter and could be the wake up call he needed. That said He has been clocked before and it could easily happen again.
Intriguing fight!

Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
After tentatively picking Sykes on points above, I just backed Buckland to win in 7-9!
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
What do you make of Munroe so far? The commentators seem to think that this Japanese guy is made of glass. He's not the quickest that's for sure.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Munroe always seems to fight to the level of his opponent..... on more than one occasion in the past couple of years he's been extended by an opponent that really ought to have been gone in the middle rounds.
He'll take this at a canter, but until he starts getting people out of there his hopes at world level are slim.

Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Although I agree his chances at world level are quite low, but at the same time the champions will want to meet him as he doesnt look a threat. Double edge sword really.LeedsLad wrote:Munroe always seems to fight to the level of his opponent..... on more than one occasion in the past couple of years he's been extended by an opponent that really ought to have been gone in the middle rounds.

Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
I think there are a few ''champions'' (I use that word carefully) that he can beat.
Nishioka was obviously too good, but some of the others at 122-126 aren't exactly superstars..... I hope he sticks to ''proper'' titles rather than some crappy WBA trinket though.
Moving up wouldn't be a bad idea, for me at 122 he's too flat for too long in the fights, since Martinez II he's given away several rounds early before turning the tide, in particularly against Terazzas.

Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
I thought he would have had Mr. Miyagi out of there by now.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Munroe has a good engine but no power. I'd like to see him stepping up like Calzaghe with workrate and pressuring his opponents. It's like a sparring session, the same as his last fight.
Nice lad Rendall, got a great attitude and always stays in shape.

It's a Boring fight.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
this geezer he's fighting has been knocked out 3 times in the 1st round as well.Horse wrote:It's a Boring fight.
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Did Munroe box to instructions and get the rounds in or is he finished at a decent level? What you guys reckon.....
Re: Sykes v.s Buckland
Munroe is acting like Witter.
I don't like his attitude at the moment.
